one of the better drugstore eyeshadows
jenstar313 (96 reviews)i recall reading somewhere that l’oreal and lancome were part of the same company…i personally love lancome products so maybe l’oreal products would be comparable at a fraction of the price? i’ve always been pleased with the lancome eyeshadows i’ve gotten as part of a gwp (okay i love them but not enough to dish out the $$$!) so i picked up the l’oreal eyeshadow quad on a whim. i like how they sort the color combos by recommendations for a specific eye color; i picked up “subtle berries” for brown eyes – a fairly neutral palette brownish palette with pink/violet tones. each color is numbered and there’s a guide on the back of the compact to show which shade goes where (lid, crease, brow, liner). the applicator that comes with it is tiny – i don’t even bother with it and use my own brushes. the lighter shades are richly pigmented, have a slight shimmer (but not too sparkly for daytime wear) and applied easily, but the darker shades were surprisingly much lighter than expected; i felt like i had to apply a lot for some color to show. my skin’s on the oily side, so i wasn’t surprised that the shadows began to crease during the day; i’m on the hunt for a primer that might help. all in all, i’m pleased with this product – and the price! — 4 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Buying Guide
12 Best Eye Shadows -
I'd pass and spend my cash on something else
slagoon (35 reviews)I picked out the “L’OREAL Wear Infinite Studio Secrets Professional Eye Shadow” in 320 Greens. It claims to be for Green/Hazel eyes. Many companies like to clump that into Hazel with Green so its nice to see that they acknowledge the difference. 320 Greens is a 4 color compact that contains about 4 grams of each color, helpfully numbered to assist with those who are makeup challenged. After just mild use on the coverthe “pretty” chrome detailing now looks ugly. Why on earth would you put your product in a package that will look bad LONG before the product is used up. Anyway, this case is very small, small enough for a pocket. These are smooth to the touch but not easy to get a lot of color from and they come with a sponge applicator. I can’t quite describe the finish – somewhere between matte and shimmer, like the back side of a piece of satin. As I mentioned before these are not very pigmented, but it lasted about 6 hours of wear with primer and it looks just exactly the way it did when I put it on this morning. No creasing. The case includes instrructions on the back side that correlate with the numbers next to the pans. When I bought these they were on the expensive side for a drug store (so I thought they should be good) around $8.00. I do like that it lasts all day with a primer and doesn’t crease. I don’t like that it has very little pigmentation. I also don’t like that they don’t blend especially well. I do like how small/portable the quad is, and how neutral the colors are so that they work for any occasion. Do I regret the purchase – of course not. Would I buy this again - no I truly and honestly believe -now- that you get what you pay for, I’d rather wait and save for a higher end more pigmented purchase. — 4 days, 5 hours agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
