  used to love this

  but i think they changed the formula. first the good: it goes on great, doesn't clump, makes lashes look longer and thicker, good color choices (aDORe the new carbon black) the bad: it flakes and migrates; w/in an hour i have the beginning of raccoon eyes and i don't even use it on my bottom lashes. if i sleep w/it on, all... bets are off, it looks like i have 2 black eyes in the morning. i wouldn't re recommend this unless you are in the habit of walking around with q-tips in your pocket and swiping away stray mascara every hour or so.   The best!

  I have recently been mascara enraged! I purchased several different brands in many different price ranges and none of them were worth squat! They clumped, they didn't coat, or didn't extend, etc. I was aggravated with expensive brands that didn't deliver. Then I saw a promotional (two for the price of one) on Voluminous and... I purchased it just for the heck of it. I kept one and gave the other to my daughter - she was laughing that I had given her "cheap priced" mascara. We both tried and it and we were hooked! This product really delivers! It is inexpensive and best of all it works! It coats my lashes perfectly making them longer and fuller, plus clumping is minimal. February 9, 2008, 7:09 am

  They certainly weren't lying when they made this volumunious claim. This mascara in Carbon Black packs on lashes like I have never seen before. In fact, at times they are even too long and full, if lashes can ever be too long and full. Sometimes when I am going out for the day I put on just one coat for a more natural... look while still helping tired or sleepy looking eyes look more awake. Side note, I've never put on just one coat of mascara for any other mascara. At night when I want my eyes to pop, I put on a few coats and hello Ive got VOLUMUNIOUS lashes! October 15, 2007, 7:28 pm

  L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara

  This was a pretty good mascara. I find with L'oreal they start out good, get great, & fizzle quick. The shelf life of this & other L'oreal mascara's tend to be 3 weeks. They dry out very quickly, & end up all over my face, little dry particles. Like all of these mascaras, this one clumps as well, & you en...d up seperating the lashes that look like spikes. Its very important to let the lashes dry before applying a second coat. I find that help prevent those spikes. All in all it was good, but you need to take your time when applying & let it dry completely between coats. March 27, 2008, 6:11 am

  Excellent product and effects!

  I was a Great Lash gal forever. Then I made forays into "expensive" mascaras (Lancome, Dior, YSL, MAC). I was disappointed in all of the expensive ones. I spotted the L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara while I was looking for the Double Extend. They were out of the non-waterproof Double Extend, so I got this one. WOW!... I am staying with this one. It wears really well - no flakes or smudges - and it washes off easily too. It makes my lashes so thick, but natural-looking. My sisters even asked me what kind of mascara I had on! That was a first.   waste of money

  I bought this in Carbon Black. It clumps,it flakes,it's spider-leggy. I don't know why they market it as the blackest black because it's just plain old black. This product is absolutely good for nothing, not worth and rating of 1. February 27, 2008, 8:39 am

  Carbon black

  I use this in the carbon black. It is the best mascara I have ever used. Even when compared to department store brands. I am a mascara addict. I keep tubes of this in my car, my bathroom, my fiance's house and his truck, i keep one in my backpack and in my makeup bag and in my purse. I am totally addicted to it and for a go...od reason. it makes my lashes look amazing. I get asked daily if i am wearing fake lashes. I highly reccomend this to anyone who wants longer, thicker and healthier looking lashes. February 24, 2008, 12:07 am

  It's pretty good

  When I first got it I was wondering if drugstore mascara could replace my Lancome (I didn't have time to drive so far and I ran out of mascara last minute). The moment I opened it it had clumps and flaked but it did something for me that no other mascara ever did (and I've tried a lot, including waterproof): no smudgey, mel...ty, raccoon eyes! there were some flakes but no icky shadow and the clumps were less noticeable after I combed my lashes with a lash comb a few times. It does make them thick and black so it will save me for the time being. I like trying new stuff and this is cheap. January 18, 2008, 5:38 pm

  THE BEST

  I have been using this mascara since they introduced it. None comes close to this. It gives me great lashes with only one application. If you are looking for an evening look, you might want to apply a second coat but really not necessary. I don't know why others note clumping, etc but I think the exact opposite about th...is mascara. Does not clump, it is actually creamy feeling going on and does not come off or smudge (unless you are wiping your eyes and eyelashes directly!) If think the shelf life is great, lasts me several months if using every day. I have always had compliments on my eye makeup and this one of the reasons. No skimpy lashes here. Also, ladies, if you don't have naturally curly hair, your lashes might also benefit from the use of an eyelash curler. Makes all the difference in the world for me because I have very straight hair and straight eyelashes if you can believe that. I love this mascara. April 23, 2008, 11:28 pm

  Always on the lookout for the perfect mascara...

  And this one comes the closest. I wear very little makeup -- usually just mascara and gloss. I never feel like mascaras are black enough or leave your lashes thick enough. However, I love the Carbon Black version of Voluminous. This one goes on black and thick with miminal clumping. Nothing a couple of sweeps of an eyelash ...comb doesn't fix. There are two drawbacks, though. First, the mascara takes forever to dry, so it smudges easily. If your lids are overhanging, this one is not for you. Also, it's difficult to remove. An excellent makeup remover is an absolute must. Soap and water won't do it; it'll just smudge all over your cheeks. November 26, 2007, 12:24 pm
