  Great Foundation

  A few years ago, I noticed the ad campaign they launched for this and decided to try it. The search never ends for a "better" foundation! Since then, I have found nothing better. I actually prefer stores like Sephora where I can try on stuff myself, but I bit the bullet and hit the makeup counter. I usually ...am turned off by mediocre makeup application, sometimes poor color matching, and high pressure sales pitches. This day I got lucky though, and the woman gave me Ecru which is the most beautiful color I've had on my skin ever. It matches every tone, and even seems to work in summer and winter, when my skin is slighter darker and lighter (not too much! - I don't purposely tan!). I explained to her that I never buy unless I've tried a sample and she very happily gave me a vial sample. After a week of use from that vial, I was hooked! This has great coverage. It says medium, but it is pretty strong coverage for me. It has a beautiful finish - not chalky or matte but not shiny either, and it is not cakey. Does it deliver on the 15 hour claim? Well, not quite, but granted, I feel that is pretty much impossible on oily skin like mine. What I do get is many hours of budge-proof wear that I occasionally, towards the end of the day, have to blot a little and smooth over a few creasy areas (around nose etc), and a beautiful natural color on my skin! I haven't found anything better yet, although I regularly try other stuff. This tends to be my go-to foundation! February 17, 2008, 5:08 pm

  I just bought this product because my old foundation would seem fade as the day went on and my face would look really oily. Right now I am in nursing school and our uniforms are all white.   Love it!

  I agree - this is the best foundation on the market, hands down. Other companies are always coming out with foundations that say "compare to E.L. Doublewear" - NOTHING COMPARES TO THIS PRODUCT!!! It does not rub off and lasts for hours and hours. It's not too thick, has medium coverage and is just beautiful on.... I have not found one thing I don't like about this foundation. It's worth the $32.50! I have wasted so much money trying all the others that supposedly can compare, and I just end up throwing them away and going right back to Doublewear. It's wonderful!   All time favorite !

  I have never been so pleased with a skin product as I have this foundation. The coverage is incredible and even in the most hot humid southern days it doesn't melt away or fall into the wrinkles as some foundations do. The colors that are offered also are a big factor in purchasing this makeup, will definitally be using thi...s for a long time to come. May 16, 2008, 7:08 am

  I have used this foundation for years. Starting in my 30's and now in my 40's. I had very oily skin when I started and it has dried out some as I have aged, but still I get perfect coverage. I no longer used powder (to prevent dryness) and it is still perfect. I apply with a foundation brush (after using a sponge for yea...rs) and have to press in with the warmth of my hands to get it to set. I use Estee Lauder cleanser (in the blue bottle, can't remember the name) and it does a wonderful job of removing all of the makeup. If you buy this foundation and it is cakey, you need to take it back and get a fresh bottle. Estee Lauder will always make sure you are satisfied. This foundation lasts me about 6 months and I wear every day with a pretty heavy coverage. April 6, 2008, 6:53 pm

  Excellent coverage and all-day-wear for oily skin

  I have very oily skin with enlarged pores and discolorations from acne. Double Wear is the best all around foundation to date. I have tried many others, from drug store brands, to premium and professional brands, but Double Wear is the best product. The coverage is excellent, it really does stay on all day without changi...ng color, caking, or coming off, and it is one of a very few oil free foundations that has SPF. I use blotting papers throughout the day, and Double Wear does not come off, even on the most oily areas, as many other foundations do. I am very fair complected and Double Wear liquid and powder come in appropriate shades for my skin tone. Many oil free foundations do not. It does not look cakey or dry on the dry areas around my eyes and covers under eye cirlces very well, eliminating the need for concealer. It does not irritate my skin or aggrevate my acne.   Great Product for people with Oily Skin!!

  This is one of the best foundations I have ever used. I have very oily skin and most other makeups I have tried melt of my face by 1:00 in the afternoon, it looked like I never wore foundation. This foundation is not for everyone because not everyone has the same type of skin. It gives me very even coverage all day long and... and doesn't slip off during the day. I receive many compliments on how beautiful my skin looks when I wear this foundation. To really make this product work for you, use a CLEAN foundation brush to apply it all over the face, you can you use a dime size amount to cover your whole face!! You also MUST wash your face!!!! If you don't, this foundation Will break you out. Also make sure that you are using a good moisturizer, if you have oily or really any type of skin applying this foundation without moisturizer will be like trying to spread putty on your face. I realize that there are some rules that apply to this foundation and if your thinking, wow that's a lot of work, it is. If you plan on spending 35 dollars for 1 foundation you can bet it will take a little extra effort. You are wearing an advanced makeup that requires extra. If this is to much for you, stick to something simpler, like, L'Oreal and don't bother the rest of us who aren't afraid of a little work. November 29, 2007, 5:07 pm

  Best Foundation EVER!!

  I have oily skin and I have tried EVERY foundation practically and no matter what they were, bobbi brown, MAC, Chanel, Clinique, Lancome, Paula's Choice, Stila, Smashbox, you name it.... they would be sliding off of my face by 2pm. Never failed until I tried this foundation. It is amazing and truly truly lasts up to 15 hou...rs w/ minimal powder touch up. It is a remarkable product that I am sooooo happy I found!   BEST FOUNDATION FOR OILY SKIN!

  I have tried many foundations over the years. Once I discovered this foundation the search was over. Even when I stray from time to time just out of curiousity I always come back to Estee Lauder's Double Wear. It gives my skin a matte finish with a great coverage. It's a bit pricey compared to other foundations, but it ...lasts a long time so it ends up about the same. May 28, 2008, 7:22 pm

  closest thing i've found to "the one"

  i normally walk right by the EL counter without a second thought but i got one of those free sample cards & thought, why not...i am a foundation junkie, i have tried so many..some i like, some are just okay, but never one that makes me want to stay--until this one. I am impressed with the staying power of this & the... coverage is really good without being too cakey. Sometimes it will cling to my dry spots but if i spritz w/a moisturising toner lightly & pat w/a flocked puff--fixes it. I look as good in the evening as i do in the morning & the color match was perfection. I haven't had any breakouts but i am super-careful to remove well at night. So far this surpasses anything i have tried to date, what a lovely surprise! November 13, 2007, 5:31 am
