Oooh. Not a favorite.

Oh my - I did not like this at all. First of all - it is very chalky and the powder does not seem of high quality - - it is really not that smooth and can harden up in the compact. Trust me - swipe your finger over Estee Lauder's Doublewear Powder or Guerlain's Parure powder and then try this. See the difference? Very poor quality. Reminds me of Merle Norman's powder foundation which was a definit...read moree disappointment. Color selection is very poor and lightest shade is for light/med skin tones - pale skin beware! This did not smooth over my skin nicely - it left a powdery residue (I used a sponge, I always do for fuller coverage) and did not cover up anything! Did not provide me with a "glowy" look and was quite honestly - pointless. My natural skin looked a lot better. I do not recommend at all - and to be honest, I have found drugstore formulations that perform higher - although I tend to stick to high-end, or luxury brands.

nice smooth foundation

This is the first time I tried smashbox cosmetics foundation. I like light coverage, since i'm not a fan of wearing lots of makeup, so I just use a powder brush. It goes on incredibly smooth and blends wonderfully. I always look like I have a slight tan and never leave the house without wearing it!

Great Buildable Coverage, Not Heavy!!!

This is one of my first beauty splurge products from JCPenny's. Once I go it home and put it on, I got good coverage, but it honestly felt like I was wearing no make-up, which was a 1st for me. If you have acne, I still suggest spotting the concealer over needed areas before putting on this powder foundation. Overall, great feel and great for your skin!!

Great for Different Needs.

Initially when I saw the name of this new foundation from Smashbox Cosmetics, I thought hmmm... this can't be so. A self-adjusting foundation? I was incorrect to think that this foundation would miraculously self-adjust to your perfect skin tone. I was wrong. Self-adjusting means, this Smashbox Self-Adjusting Powder Foundation will look different and adjust, depending on which of the five ways you...read more apply it. Now, I understood. Now that we get that this foundation provides completely adjustable coverage, let's see how this can be achieved. To get SHEER coverage, apply with a fan brush. To get LIGHT coverage, apply with a loose powder brush. For MEDIUM coverage, apply the foundation powder with a kabuki brush. For FULL coverage with a MATTE finish, first apply the powder with a damp with a foundation brush and then blend out to dry with the sponge. Finally, to get FULL all over coverage, apply the powder wet or dry with the sponge, depending on how much you want to cover. While I don't usually go for a very full coverage, I like applying this foundation with a damp foundation brush, and then blending and smoothing it out with the sponge that is enclosed in the compact. It is a very beautiful finish, almost air brushed like.
