On it's own this mascara makes my lashes look kinda spidery. With the shiseido mascara primer it looks much better. The brush grabs even the tiniest eyelashes, the formula is smooth, fluid and glossy black. I only noticed a tiny difference in curl (i don't use a curler). The color didn't smudge or run (i happened to cry the day i tried it, not a single black run). I have asian stick straight lashes and this has been my savior. Got it first as a sample as I was buying Shiseido foundation, used it once and I fell in love.
