  I own just about everything No. 5. This classy bottle and fragrance are a favorite and it drives my husband wild. Men always comment when I wear this scent. The black cannister is refillable which is very cool and it protects the glass. When you run out of your spray, you remove the bottle and refill with a new bottle. Love... it! May 25, 2008, 5:18 pm

  Expensive classic

  I know it is a classic, but it does has average length of wear and a high price. My ratings are based on price and quality and length of wear due to the fact that different perfumes react differently with body chemistries. On me the scent is powdery with a floral undertone that turns a bit powder vanilla-y at the bottom n...otes. The bottles of Chanel are always great. They feel quality and look beautiful. The length of wear for this perfume is about average in my mind. Each note lasts a decent amount of time and in total I get the scent for about 5 to 6 hours which is pretty good.   There is a reason this perfume has been around for over 80 years and is always a best seller. The sandalwood and vetiver base notes are what lingers after the top and middle notes of ylang-ylang, jasmine, and mayrose subside a couple hours after application. Some people describe it as an almost powdery scent, but I person...ally have never experienced that. Whenever I wear this fragrance I always feel sexy and sophisticated and like I can take on the world. It's amazing how much confidence just a few spritzes of this perfume can make me feel!   This is the only Parfum I have ever used. The scent does not change after application. I have ofter said that if I would afford it I would take a bath in #5 - oooooo the luxury of that thought. November 5, 2009, 6:02 am

  Chanel is a Classic

  I agree this fragrance has been my staple for many years. I just can't find another fragrance that has the same sexiness to it. I do wear other fragrances from time to time but none make me feel as womanly as #5. July 8, 2009, 5:57 am

  Marilyn Monroe supposedly started a craze for #5 when she said that it was the only thing she slept in; it seems now that people think of it as something tacky-wrong; contrary to its image, it's as fresh as powder, the way a classy male would want his lover to smell like, in bed or out.
