Great choice for a radiant yet natural finish

I recently added a few new foundations to my collection and since I have had good luck with Estee Lauder makeup in the past I decided to try something from their current line of foundations. I have combination skin which is more on the dry side in the winter and I prefer natural, radiant, or luminous finishes in foundations. Basically any finish that isn't matte. I'm in my late 30's and prefer ...read moreproducts that offer age fighting benefits if possible since I feel like my skin is beginning to show early signs of aging. I have fair skin with both yellow and pink undertones so I usually choose foundations listed at neutral as far as undertones go. Estee Lauder Resilience Lift Extreme compact foundation has broad spectrum SPF 15 and is supposed to be for normal/combination and dry skin. Estee Lauder writes on the box that this foundation is a lightweight creme formula for a flawless makeup artist finish. They add that it contains ExtremeLift Complex which is supposed to help improve elasticity for a younger more lifted and firmer look. This foundation is also supposed to provide a radiant finish and provide moisture. It is labeled as having medium buildable coverage. This foundation comes in a compact and retails for $37.50. the compact is navy blue hard plastic and is round with a square gold colored Estee Lauder emblem on the top. The bottom of the compact has ventilation holes for the applicator sponge. To open the compact you simply press a small tab and it opens up with 2 separate compartments. On the top there is mirror about 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The top section contains the creme makeup. Then you can just lift up the part containing the makeup and underneath it you will find the round sponge applicator. This foundation comes in 16 shades and I chose the fairest shade (1) in the neutral undertone option, called 1N1 Fair. The compact is about 3 inches in diameter and about 3/4 of an inch deep and I think that it feels much lighter than expected so it really would be great for travel. So many of my foundations come in glass bottles so this handy little compact is a nice option to have. My experience: Since I've never used a creme compact foundation before, I didn't quite know what to expect. I tried to apply a small dab with the dry sponge applicator but it seemed too hard to apply that way, like I would have to rub too hard on my skin to get it on. It might be better if I wet the sponge first, and I may try that in the future, but since I typically like using my foundation brush anyways, I just went ahead and used a brush. With my Estee Lauder foundation brush I swiped it through the creme and then sort of patted it around a section of my face and then blended. I found that the creme consistency is harder to blend than the liquid foundations I'm used to. It is definitely thick and creamy so it helped to sort of dab it around in a section of my face before starting the blending process. I found that it took longer to apply and blend this foundation than most of my liquid foundations so this isn't something I would use in a hurry. Now maybe it would be different if I used a wet sponge applicator instead of a brush, but I'm more comfortable with brushes so that's how I do it. If I ever try with the sponge applicator moistened I'll update my review and let you know. Once the foundation was applied and blended, my overall impression was that my skin looked hydrated and moist, but not greasy or oily at all. I didn't really notice any "lift" but I definitely had a youthful firm look to my face all day. The finish was radiant just as advertised. There are no sparkles or glitter or shimmer, but I had a bright radiant complexion with this foundation. I found that the coverage was medium as described on the box, and the foundation seemed to last about 6 or 7 hours before it started looking a little worn off. The foundation doesn't have any scent that I can notice Estee Lauder writes that this foundation is Dermatologist-tested, non-acnegenic, fragrance-free, and photo-friendly. I found that although it was a creamy formula when applied, I didn't feel it on my face at all which was nice. I felt that it looked very natural and not at all mask-like. Overall I'm very happy with this foundation and will keep using it. I can't give it 10 stars because it was actually more difficult to apply and blend than my typical liquid foundations. I do like the travel friendly compact design and it does seem to provide moisture to my skin without adding a greasy or oily look which I appreciate, especially in the winter. The finish it provides is natural, radiant, and youthful. Although my skin may not be sagging enough to notice any real lift, I did feel that my skin looked firmer with this foundation. — 1 year, 6 months ago

Makes skin look smooth and flawless

This foundation gives great coverage for all flaws or discoloration. It goes on smooth and looks natural and not thick or cakey . It is easy to use and blends great. The only reason I don't give it a ten is because its price is high for the amount of product (.31 oz.) you get (the design of the compact makes it look like you are getting more than you are.) — 6 years, 2 months ago

    Great coverage and texture

Yeah, this does have quite a name. If this foundation really could provide extreme lifting and ultra firming, I would be using it on my bottom instead. LOL =) All kidding aside, this is a creamy feeling foundation that provides good coverage without looking like it was caked on. Although it's mainly recommended for normal to dry skin, it works great on my combination skin and doesn't aggravate ...read morethe oiliness in my t-zone. In fact, I don't have to touch up my nose throughout the day like I do with some liquid foundations. And I love the fact that it has SPF 15 in it so I don't have to layer it over sunscreen; for me, the less products, the better. — 6 years, 5 months ago

Quick & Easy to Apply - Long-Lasting Coverage

For most women it appears that the name says it all! Great for those looking for help with firmness & elasticity in a lightweight foundation. In this case, not exactly ... in addition, what I found is that it is very easy to apply, provides the best coverage of imperfections, and looks great all day. Having a medical condition that restricts movement, applying makeup is a real challenge. This Estee Lauder foundation has saved the day for me! — 6 years, 5 months ago

    Beautiful foundation!

My skin is dry, and I'm always looking for a good foundation that won't aggravate the dryness or accent pores and lines. I'm so impressed with this new Lauder cream foundation that I highly recommend it! First of all, the color range is impressive, with cool, neutral, and warm. I was able to get a perfect color match (for reference, I'm about an NW20 in MAC, and I chose 2N1 Ivory Beige in the...read more Lauder.) The foundation smooths on and blends easily, either with the sponge included, or the BeautyBlender sponge (which I love!) -- application is a breeze. The foundation gives a luminous glow to the skin without looking heavy or greasy, and it feels wonderfully comfortable. My face felt hydrated, and the foundation lasted well without wearing off or clumping, and no settling into pores or lines. At the end of the day, there was no dryness, no uneven wear, and no flaking at all. I like the compact because it's portable, and the sponge sits in its own area below the cream to keep it handy and let it air out between applications. It is hard to find a cream foundation these days that is not a cream-to-powder, but Lauder has made a perfect one, and I will definitely repurchase. — 6 years, 7 months ago

    Flawless Face

As I was browsing the Estee Lauder counter, I decided to try on the Resilience makeup. I was not wearing makeup and thought a quick application would perk me up. I was amazed at the transformation. I looked really terrific. Much better than with the makeup I had been using. I purchased Resilience and have been a happy user since. — 6 years, 7 months ago
