Good for people with "chicken bumps" on arms

by EricaB (21 reviews)
I have those little keratosis pilaris or whatever the name for the bumpy skin on the back of my arms is, and Amlactin works well to reduce these bumps. If you use it daily, especially right out of the shower, the lactic acid in this cream will help a lot to make the skin smoother.11/27/2007

December 28, 2007, 11:27 pm this product resolves annoying beauty issues such as 'chicken skin' (keratosis pilaris) by using a nicely formulated lactic acid. it keeps those annoying bumps on my arms and thighs at bay as well as to help with any ingrown hairs. the product is also a great moisturizer -- i use it on my feet at night and cover with cotton socks to rid myself of dry, cracked heels. i even use it in a foot soak with epsom salts as part of my in-home pedicure process. it is very efficient at removing built up calluses without any chance of over-sloughing. this is a staple in my lotion collection and the price point is significantly better than the high priced gimmicky products which make the same claims, December 28, 2007, 11:27 pm

May 20, 2008, 4:02 pm This is well worth the price, about $12, but it is the ONLY treatment that worked for me when it came to getting rif of those ugly red bumps on my upper arms. I thought they were pimples, yuck!! With summer approaching, I wear a lot of sleeveless tops and I was so embarrassed by the bumps on my arms. I never had acne, ANYWHERE and I did not know what this was, so I tried EVERYTHING and nothing worked until I tried AMLACTIN.Within a couple of days it was gone and now the scarring is clearing up, too. I stopped using the AMLACTIN for a few days to try another AHA lotion by Dove and it all came crashing back, ugh!!! So it's AMLACTIN all the way for me. It doesn't smell that great, but the scent vanishes within a minbute or 2 and it is the best for getting rifd of those ugly bumps. May 20, 2008, 4:02 pm

Ineffective for moderate KP and smells bad

    by Jenner (24 reviews)
If your KP is moderate or worse (thankfully mine isn't) you have to use this every morning and every night to get even minimal results. Plus, as another reviewer stated, it smells pretty bad even though it claims to be fragrance free - not true, it has a nasty medicinal smell. March 18, 2008, 2:49 pm

    Doesnt work so fast..

    by Seaglassgirl (40 reviews)
While my derm told me to try this cream, for dry rough chicken skin on my upper arms, it literally took weeks, and i didnt notice much of a difference. The product also sticks to your nails, and if you wear polish, it literally mixes with the polish and can cause it to become sticky. June 2, 2008, 7:57 am

    Great Product

    by girlwomanbeautybrainsblog (208 reviews)
I originally bought this for my husband's ashen legs. This cream contains 12 percent lactic acid, which is an alpha-hydroxy acid, which acts as a humectant for the skin. This cream worked so well on my husband's legs, that I now sneak a squeeze of AmLactin for my legs, too. May 25, 2008, 2:07 pm

    Works for KP

    by kikij1113 (8 reviews)
This gets rid of my KP if I remember to use it religiously twice a day. Unfortunately, I usually don't. Reason: it smells TERRIBLE!! February 3, 2008, 1:43 pm
