    worth a shot

cover fx is a pretty cool line - their foundations cover absolutely everything and look amazingly natural when applied properly, but this setting powder is a complete necessity when using their other products. the foundation never dries on its own, so in order to get a natural finish you MUST use this powder to set! a few tips that i learned from the brand representative - use very sparingly with a large brush, and don't sweep the powder over your applied foundation - instead, pat gently into the skin. once you've applied a layer of foundation and set it with this powder, you can apply more foundation for additional coverage - just remember to set it again! this powder is designed to work with all 32 shades of their cream foundation. i have very fair skin so it hasn't been an issue for me in terms of being too light, but the brand rep that i worked with had beautiful deep chocolate brown skin, and she used the same powder right in front of me - it looks flawless, and not ashy or gray at all. — 4 years, 8 months ago

    Nice glow...

I bought this powder with Cover FX foundation. I did not like the foundation, because it was too heavy, but I liked the powder. It controlled my oily skin, didn't cause breakouts, and gave my fair skin a healthy glow. — 4 years, 11 months ago

    Great, but use sparingly!

I have used the Cover FX setting powder for about a year now, and I love it, It makes my makeup look fantastic and does not budge from my face for hours. However, this setting powder has a bit of a sheen to it, so if used all over the face it can make you look greasy. I just use this on my cheeks and eye area to brighten and prevent creasing and it works wonderfully for that. — 4 years, 11 months ago

    Not the greatest

So I have to say I was REALLy disappointed with this product for myself. The product comes in 2 choices Translucent and Dark. I happen to use dark. Well lets get right down to it. I love the foundation as its non-comodegenic.. full coverage with a nice dewy finish but sometimes its nice to be MATTE right? So i let the girl at the counter advise me that I needed the powder in order to set the CoverFX foundation. Which is fine cause I knew that. But what made me pretty upset was that it made me completely ASHY!! Now you dark skinned girls know what I mean. Ashy is not our friend. In fact it's no one's friend. Basically they have these great foundations in yellow based tones.. but one thing I have learned is that a bad powder can make for really bad makeup. I ended up having a pretty gray complexion once the powder was applied and didnt match my skin tone, no matter the amount of powder I applied it had the same affect. .. Let's just say pictures tell the truth. I went back returned it , which they were pretty good about actually, no questions.. small paper to fill out and my money was back.. But I knew I couldnt wear this makeup with no powder.. so I said what about Translucent.. yeahhhhhhhh not so translucent on my skin. But to be honest, a girlfriend of mine with olive toned skin used the CoverFx foundation/Translucent Loose powder and it looked fantastic on her. Suffice to say I decided to go with Aveda that has a REALLY great Yellow based powder for only 40.00 CAD that's changed my makeup life... Ah well... I heard they're revamping their colors so maybe they'll work on their powder. I gave it a 3 for the great customer service... otherwise it probably would have been a 1....AlysseImani;) — 5 years, 5 months ago
