It is kind of sticky, with good hold, not crunchy at all. It also smells nice. I used to use it in my long hair to get beachy-type hair. It can be a little hard to work with because you don't want to apply too much. it's okay as long as you watch how much you use and how fast you use it. Just a bit is all you need but it dries really quickly on your hands as you are applying. Once applied it does have really good staying power. My fine hair kept the tousled waves all day. Also washes out of hair easily with no funky residue.
