not sure if it's the same. but I have curly/wavy thick hair.. and this really works wonders. my hair is so much softer now. i am able to comb my hair finally, too! It smells good and a little goes a long way, unlike so many other conditioners. I will never buy a different conditioner. If you have thin hair, it probably isn't for you.. or maybe use as a treatment or use a minimal amount. this is a greaaat product, after trying so many other things and ending up unsatisfied. I have very curly, very frizzy hair. This stuff really hydrates hair; the thick consistency seems to coat the hair and really penetrate each curl. Unlike other products that only seem to hydrate for a day, this stuff has improved my hair a bit with multiple uses. I use it every day, which might be too much for others, but my curls are thirsty! I really love this stuff! I color, blow dry, and heat style my hair BUT this balm really keeps my hair from drying out. I do not use it every time I wash (I like to use some smoothing shampoo/conditioner when preparing to style my hair...or frizz control when the weather demands it), but I use it when I air dry my air and I also at least once a week I use it as a deep conditiong treatment. I will sleep with it in my hair, actually I leave it in until the next time I shampoo. It makes my natural waves pretty, uniform, and touchable... Not to mention when I wash it out my hair shines and is super soft. I really get a lot of compliments on the condition of my hair, which is amazing considering all that I put it through. The smell is nice and clean and as long as you do not apply it directly to the roots of you hair, it will not weigh your hair down. December 11, 2007, 9:38 am

I have super thick course hair (and lots of it) so over the years i have tried it all....this conditioner has the perfect balance of what my hair needs to make it feel like real hair and it stays shiny and bouncy and lightweight after drying my hair.....and that says alot for me because most products are okay until you start to dry your hair and it feels gummy. Once I turned 19 and started coloring my hair, I always had really bad tangles when I got out of the shower. So much so that I could hardly get a comb through! I tried alot of products and eventually stumbled upon this. When I use this in my hair which I do every time I wash it, there is not a single tangle and my comb slides right through. It makes your hair very soft and is great especially in the winter when it's dry. I have converted friends into Matrix users and they all swear by it like I do. November 29, 2007, 10:21 am

I have very dry and thin hair, and when i found this, all of that changed. i wouldn't recommend using it EVERYDAY but use it a few times a week in place of your regular conditioner and it will work wonders. i did find though, that you need to apply only to the ends of your hair or else it will make your roots a little greasy. I have very thin hair and have tried numereous condtioners only to find that my hair was weighed down and very hard to manage.. but after using Biolage the only product I will use from their Shampoos to conditoner I have to say my hair looks and feels great!! no more heavy hair and greasy feeling hair.. its light its bouncy ... its Wonderful...
