Didn't really like it.
I have a little sample blisterpack of this product in Beauty Queen (red) and have not actually seen the actual product size or packaging in real life (but I did compare listed product amounts to Benefit's Benetint/Posietint--see below). TheBalm Stainiac: $15 for 0 .3oz ($50/oz) Benefit Posietint/Benetint: $28 for 0 .4oz ($70/oz) I haven't tried Benetint so I can't compare it to Stainiac. However I love Posietint and would be interested to see if TheBalm's Stainiac in Prom Queen is similar. PROS: Decent length of wear. Buildable color. CONS: Doesn't apply evenly. Shows up more on my fingers than anywhere else (didn't show up on cheeks, looked blotchy on lips)! Hard to remove from hands as well. Overall, I wouldn't purchase Stainiac in Beauty Queen. If I'm only going to get one stain, it would probably be Benefit's Posietint. — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

On the fence, love it for cheeks.. not really for lips
I got this product in my June Birchbox, which was all about jet setting. I loved the idea of a two in one product for cheeks and lips. I received the color Beauty Queen. I am quite pale and the color looks a bit overwhelming in the bottle but I tried it and now use it every day. I love it on my cheeks, it’s a soft color once you do put it on, although the other reviewers are right in that it does stay on your fingers. However, I also tried it on my lips and did not have the greatest outcome. It didn’t really work for me on my lips, didn’t stain evenly or last very long. I was excited to have a two in one product for travelling or even to keep in my purse for touch ups but I haven’t been 100% happy with it. I’ve tried other lip stains and none of them have really lasted too long and I hate how dry my lips became. For the time being, it’s a nice option and I do love it on my cheeks for daily use. It probably works differently on everyone so I would say it’s worth a shot to try! — 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 7 people said helpful

Disappointing- bad finish and difficult to apply
I received a mini version of Stainiac in one of my Birchboxes last year. After trying it several times I am sadly let down. First, the product is very difficult to apply evenly. With the first coat the finish is patchy and uneven. You CAN build up to an even finish but it will take you at least 3 coats and by then the color is REALLY intense and not super wearable for every day. Also the texture is weird and uncomfortable. It feels drying, sticky and tight. You can't put a gloss or balm over it because it pushes the product around and messes everything up. The taste is gross, very strong and unpleasant. I have few good things to say about Stainiac. I had high hopes, and the color is pretty but it's too much work and too many cons to suffice for the finished effect. — 1 month, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
