Kiehl's Lip Balm, You Disappoint Me
Sure, this formula is packed with Lanolin, Squalane, Wheat Germ Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, and Vitamins A and E to help heals lips. It works--temporarily. There is an immediate soothing effect, but I have found balms that go to work to actually repair my lips. The formula is too thick for my comfort, and the SPF factor is ineffective for protection. Instead of spending $7.00 on a small tube of Kiehl's, why not use Vaseline or Elizabeth Arden's "Eight Hour Cream?" — 1 month, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Decent Lipbalm
A little bit of this lip balm can go a long way. This Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 is in a tube-like container similar that's to a toothpaste container that I have to squeeze out the yellowish tint product onto my fingers before applying it to my lips. Be sure to squeeze out the tiniest amount, otherwise you're going to end up having to remove the excess with a tissue. After applying this product, my chapped lips definitely feel a little smoother. However, it also feels a little greasy. The product is meant to only temporarily protect and help relieve chapped or cracked lips from the drying effects of wind and cold weather. It also recommends applying the product liberally to lips and allowing the excess of the balm to be absorbed. Again, if you're comfortable with a layer of balm on your lips for hours, then try out this lip balm. The product also has SPF 4, which is not strong enough to protect my lips against the harmful rays of the suns, but it's still better than nothing. The active ingredient is petrolatum at ninety percent, which is a skin protectant and octinoxate at one percent, which is a sunscreen. Since the SPF is pretty low, and this product is primarily meant for chapped lips from the wind during the wintertime, this would not be a good lip balm for the summer. The inactive ingredients include squalane, lanolin, triticum vulgare (wheat) germ oil, tocopherol, allantoin, propylparaben, butylparaben, and aloe barbadensis leaf extract. It is on the expensive side for a lip balm, and the smell is not the greatest either. There’s a strong scent when you first apply it, but it doesn’t linger on for too long. In conclusion, this is a relatively decent winter lip balm when your lips get extra chapped. — 1 year, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

Gooey
I had this a few years ago. I usually don't throw away a skin care/makeup product, but I remember I tossed it away this one. The smell and taste were nasty, and it was as good as applying a grease on my lips directly. Also I disliked the package. Each time I squeezed, too much gooey stuff came out. I stick with soothing Burt's Bee lip balm or Origins lip remedy. — 3 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

eh...
This lip balm is packaged in a regular tube without any lip applicator, so you have to use your finger tips to spread onto your lips. It's mostly vaseline (petrolatum), so it's not worth the price. It does protect the lips from the driest weather, but it's very greasy and has an odor. There are cheaper alternative to this in the drugstores. — 3 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

I really like this chap stick although it's a little expensive it's worth what you get from it. — 2 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 3 people said helpful

The best there is
This lip balm is by far my favourite!! Whenever I have dry/chapped lips this seems to instantly make a difference as soon as I apply it. I also recommend using it nightly at bedtime. The consistency is thicker/very emollient and it lasts throughout the night to keep lips hydrated and soft. A must have!! — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 7 people said helpful

Overrated
This is thick and rich, but once it's gone from yours lips, which is quickly, it leaves nothing behind to protect them or soothe them. At least Chapstick makes a noticeable difference with use. I didn't find this with Kiehl's at all. — 1 month, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

#1 in my book, too!
Kiehl's #1 is fantastic. It's rich and emollient and really saves beaten-up winter lips as well as dry, sunburned summer smackers. It's not a fancy-shmancy gloss, but a great balm that you can even use on cuticles. It's a great, basic, unfussy all-purpose balm that I can always fall back on. It can be a tad greasy, but when you really need it (i.e. your lips are drier than the sahara) it sinks right in and feels great. And, by the way, the scent is yummy; kind of like an oatmeal cookie. — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 3 people said helpful

My FAVORITEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
I came across this product when I was getting Kiehl's ultra facial cream. I tried the lip balm while I was waiting to be helped at the Kiehl's counter, I feel in love right then! I debated on which flavor to get but since the original is 2 dollars cheaper, I decided to stick with this. I LOVE this product. I don't need any other lip products. It brings out my natural lip color and keeps my lips moist!! I don't particularly like the way I have to apply because I have to use my fingers.. but the result is worth it! I don't even need to apply it every hour. I probably use it twice or three times a day max! I wonder if squalene is what makes this product magical.. — 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 3 people said helpful

Good stuff.
This is a pretty good lip balm. A little goes a long way and one tube lasts forever. I put it on a night and wake up with nice lips. — 9 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 3 people said helpful
