The base coat is a quick drying opaque product and can be used by itself with the top coat for a slight sheen natural manicure. This base coat does however change the look of sheer nail polish to opaque. I have used so many different brands of nail polish with pretty much the same results.. After a few days the color will chip and the shine fades. Now for JOAN RIVERS NAIL POLISH and BASE & TOP COAT.... I have purchased jewelry and cosmetics from Joan and have seen her talk about her nail polish being the best and that it won't chip. I thought what the heck, I will try it. WOW!! What a surprise... She is right!!. FINEALLY a nail polish, base and top coat that does what is said about it...
