Does Not Perform Well

With the name of the product listing everything I want in a mascara, I thought I finally found the perfect mascara. I was wrong. It is supposed to lengthen, curl, thicken, and condition your lashes so they will grow and stay healthy. That's what the Sephora makeup artist told me. My lashes didn't separate, which was good. But, it did none of the things I want in a mascara. My quest ended when I found the new MAC C82 mascara which absolutely lengthens and thickens. I could not believe it! I finally found what I wanted in a mascara. As far as this product is concerned, I suggest you test it to see if it performs better on your lashes. I do not recommend this mascara.

Fantastic

Long lasting on the lashes. The brush is probably the favorite of any I have tried. Does not dry out in the tube. Definitely worth the money!

A Good Mascara, but Could Be Better

I received this Tarte mascara as a gift a few months back and was so excited to get to use this brand. It was the first Tarte mascara I’ve tried. First, the packaging is quite cute and unique, if that sort of thing matters to you. The lid, however, has a flap, which you can kind of see in the picture. I feel that this somewhat impedes one from closing the mascara properly, but maybe it was just...read more me. Mine was in black and it was a deep, rich black and not at all chalky. It almost looked like ink when you put it on, that’s how wonderfully black this mascara is. I do love that about it. It is certainly true to color. I think it did well to not clump for much of the time I had it, but with each dip of the wand, you could tell it was getting clumpy. Clumpiness in mascara is very common and expected. I would have liked this in a waterproof formula because it ran and smudged quite badly and did not stay in place, even through an eight-hour work day. That is not good performance in my book. This mascara definitely gives lashes a voluminous look! My lashes certainly stood out when I used this and that might partly be because of the lustrous black color or maybe something in the formula itself, I’m not really sure. Finally, I want to comment on the ease of application. This mascara goes on like butter, not to sound cliché, but it is that smooth. The wand is thin and seems to hit exactly where you’d want it. I usually just put mascara on my upper lashes and I do not recall having any issues with the wand itself hitting the bottom lashes when I didn’t want it to. Overall, this is a nice, higher-end mascara.

Good for you!

This stuff has natural ingredients in it. It makes your lashes really long. the bristles are good for seperating. U should get it.

Seems like one of the best - a keeper

I've used almost all MAC mascaras, drug store brands, and must say that Chanel Inimitable, and Lancome Hypnose and Defincils are at the top of the list, but this one is a keeper now too. I like it becaue it creates tops of drama, and feels soft and light on my eyes.

Love this stuff.

Onc coat for day, 2 for night, and great lashes. Doesn't clump, is easily removed, lasts a long time... great product.

off-putting odor makes this product a reject

i'll never know if this mascara is capable of realizing it's advertising claims. i purchased a brand new tube at my local sephora, which i can only assume had not been opened and exposed to air. the texture indicated a fresh product and although the wand was not a typical mascara wand, i was interested in checking it out. i didn't notice immediately the smell of this product. i applied it gen...read moreerously, found it slightly clumpy (probably the unusual wand) and no curling action. what i noticed most of all was the tearing of my eyes, subsequent smearing of the product and an odor that seemed to ooze from my lashes. then i smelled the wand and the bottle -- sure enough this was the source of the unpleasantness, i'm willing to believe that my eyes may more sensitive than average but for the life of me, i will never understand the use of fragrance in any product that is applied near the eye. i so want to like tarte as i want to like benefit, but i think that both of these companies have gotten too big for their britches and are compelled to release products as quick as the 'big boys'. i for one, wish they'd look back to their past and look at what they did right in the first place to know where to go in the future.

Lights, Camera, Lashes

Lights, Camera, Lashes is the actual name of this mascara from Tarte. I've been on the search for the holy grail of mascaras for quite some time. For a natural look Clinique's Naturally Glossy Mascara comes pretty close to that grail. For more drama without flakes and clumps Lights, Camera, Lashes is pretty spectacular. I've gone through a myriad of mascaras, both cheap and more pricey, on ...read moremy neverending search, and I'm pretty sure that this mascara by Tarte will stay in my beauty repertoire for some time to come. If you're looking for really high drama lashes, falsies are probably the best way to go and don't expect miracles from this little wand concealed in a snake-skin like tube but if you want some pretty good volume with no clumps, flakes or smudges definitely give this one a try. I can't give an opinion on the curl, I use an eyelash curler before my mascara, but it keeps the curl made by my curler and makes it last all day. It definitely volumizes very well, and although I have pretty long eyelashes naturally, it did seem to add a bit of length (not spectacular in that aspect so if you have really short lashes and are looking for length you may be a bit disappointed). All in all this is a pretty great mascara and I'd definitely recommend to those looking for fairly dramatic lashes without clumps and smudges
