    Lightweight Skin Finish

    by Starluxe (300 reviews)
    Top 100 ReviewerTrusted Review
Hey, it's completely all right if you don't have perfect skin because personally, I don't. Especially on days when I feel so out of my body because I lack sleep resulting from my insomnia and my skin decides to dull, this is a wonder. I've heard rants and raves about MAC foundations and that it highly congests the skin bu...t yet my hyper sensitive skin made a pact with it. I've used this product since I was about fifteen and it hasn't contributed to my skin issues I had with different skincare lines and other cosmetics. It's a smooth powder foundation combination so there isn't a need to multiply the number of steps for this deal. The sponge can be used on the go but it looks so amazingly flawless when used with a large powder or kabuki brush and buffed in circular motion into the skin. Almost seven years since I've started using this and it has stood it's territory in my makeup case. Long lasting? You bet. Although for those who have oily skin, this is recommended because it has silica which absorbed extra oils but seals in moisture simultaneously. Now for a price tag of $25.00, this usually will last me about most of the year ranging anywhere from four to seven months depending on my usage. I usually have more coverage in the summer because my skin tends to be hyperpigmented when it has bathed in the sun too long even with higher sunscreen protection. It's completely buildable in coverage ranging from sheer to full but it shouldn't be reapplied mid day if you tend to shine; a simple blot film or translucent powder will do the job and it should be refreshed. Too much of this foundation will indicate itself by looking caked on but it can be thinned out with MAC's fix spray or their charge waters. While this can be compared to Make Up For Ever's Duo Mat Powder Foundation, MAC's Studio Fix Powder is much more shade reliable in my opinion, it doesn't highly oxidize to the point where it's a completely different shade whereas Make Up For Ever's foundations do so. This can also just set the Studio Fix Fluid to blur any lines and even out the whole look into an airbrush finish that totally looks natural. This has been the only foundation that matched my skin perfectly in shade, delivered a nice coverage, and is velvety to the touch. I can't say enough great compliments about this. Has its pros and cons

I love how the sponge is stored. The make-up does cover really well, but it almost makes me look plastic. Can be chalky if you get carried away or forget to moisturize first. Strangers have told me that my skin was amazing before when I was wearing this (covering up a very unfortunate break-out) so I guess it does the jo...b, but I sometimes feel like my skin looks fake. However, when I see pictures of me wearing it I always like it. It creates a "China doll" look even on somewhat darker complexions like mine. My favorite make-up company...No animal testing! MAC STUDIO FIX IS A MUST

    by wakefield (6 reviews)
Mac Studio Fix is truly a must. I have worn makeup daily from the time I have been 12 years old and have done both print and tv work. Never have I ever used such a fabulous product. I am never without it. It lasts and last and is the only foundation I would ever use. Wonderful for touch up and I really do look wonderful fro...m morning till night. Easy care rinse out sponge applicator is housed underneath the powder/foundation. My only complaint is that the compact case is fat and heavy in my purse. Wish they would make the case thiner. Save MAC empty cases and return to the store when you have 6 and they will recycle the cases and give you a free lipstick!! What could be better. Oh yes. They color is true to my skin tone. Love you MAC. December 26, 2007, 6:43 pm

    Best Foundation for Oily Skin

    by Hill75 (8 reviews)
I have tried nearly every foundation ever made, from cheap to expensive, and this is the best one for my skin. I am 32 years old, and I have oily, sensitive skin with redness/broken capillaries from rosacea, with occasional breakouts. This is so easy and quick to apply. I recommend using the sponge that comes with it (it...'s hidden underneath the foundation) to pat on your skin. I use bare minerals bisque beforehand to cover up my large pores and broken capillaries, and then just pat on the m.a.c. I stopped using bare minerals foundation because the brushes irritated my skin, the color didn't match, and it didn't cover well. This absorbs oil, has great buildable coverage, doesn't settle into fine lines, and leaves a beautiful matte finish (not a dead-matte, but a soft, natural-looking matte). It comes in so many colors, you're bound to find the perfect match for your skin. I have very fair skin, and N3 is perfect for me because it also neutralizes the redness in my face. It lets your skin breathe, and never clogs your pores. This is perfect for someone with oily skin and/or rosacea. It's quite affordable, and lasts a long time. I LOVE IT! December 8, 2007, 12:03 pm

    Good and Bad

    by cathigs (14 reviews)
I too loved the coverage of this foundation for several years, but I noticed that my skin was constantly drying out. While getting a brow wax, my gal asked me what foundation I used because it was so abrasive on my skin- I stopped using Studio Fix and my skin breathed some fresh air and I noticed an instant difference. Girl...s, if you have dry skin or sensitive skin, I do not reccomend this. It is a bummer because it is great coverage and easy to put on, but I want to have great skin when I'm older too! Undecided

    by jmk244 (4 reviews)
I just recently bought studio fix after reading reviews about how amazing it is. As far as foundation goes this works pretty well-one of the best foundations I have tried. It goes on even and doesnt look to heavy but studio fix is not perfect. Sometimes my skin gets very oily and it wont last all day and I must reapply. How...ever, I just use oil blotting sheets and everything turns out fine. I will buy this product again because I have not found anything better, but I will also keep my eye out for other foundations. Overall I like this foundation and would recommend it but its nothing amazing. December 2, 2007, 8:30 pm

    fabulous.

    by ohsotragical (3 reviews)
I love my Studio Fix. I actually don't enjoy SPF built into my makeup, so I really love that this doesn't have it. I have really sensitive skin, and I've never had any breakout problems with it. Such a great selection of colors, and while it does seem to be a bit heavy at times, it's easy to use less or more depending on... how much coverage you want. Great stuff! October 18, 2007, 9:35 pm

This is definitely one of my favorite foundations! It provides great coverage and doesn't wear off. Even though it is $25 it is worth the price. It works well to cover blemishes. I recommend applying it with a brush not the sponge. Overall this is a great foundation. July 12, 2008, 5:21 pm

    okay

This is nice to layer over foundation(lightly so you dont look like you have a mask on). It does dry out skin, and I could never use it on my skin bare. I have combination skin and I have tried just concealing little areas and than using this over the top. My skin felt dry and I could see flakey patches. THis stuff is okay.... I guess it depends on your skin type. Definetly try it out in the store before buying. March 27, 2008, 4:31 pm

    great for fair skin

I have fair skin, and I have a hard time finding drugstore foundation that's light enough for my skin, so I decided to give this a try. I wear NW15, and it matches my skin perfectly. I have sensitive skin, and this doesn't cause me to break out at all. I've been using it for about a year, and I have never had any problem...s with it. I like how the sponge is in a separate compartment (i actually didn't even know it was in there when i first got it!) and the case is pretty sturdy. I've never had the powder break as many of my other powders have. I use this almost everyday, and need a new one every 2 months or so, so I wish it was cheaper, but other than that this is a great product. November 5, 2007, 8:42 pm
