For reasons unknown, my lips are allergic to this balm. However, the good part is i like the light powdery rose scent. Since I can't use it on my lips, i use it on my toenails and fingernails before i go to sleep; and this helps to keep them happily moisturized. It is also very good to put it on the lower heel before you sleep because you'll wake up with a smooth heel the next day! All in all, I would like to love this balm, but i can't because my lips are allergic to it; nonetheless, the vintage-like packaging, the scent, and the multipurpose balm for other parts of the body make up the one bad part. I've been using this stuff for years...since I was a little girl actually. No other lip balm or gloss has ever stacked up to this one. I can put it on at night and wake up in the morning with perfectly smooth lips. During the winter when everyone else is complaining of chapped lips, I never have them because of this stuff. I laughed so hard when I first saw it at Urban Outfitters because I'd been using it from the corner co-op since I was little. Now everyone can enjoy this wonderful salve! (The strawberry lip balm version tastes a little better, but doesn't quite do the trick like the Rosebud Salve.) March 6, 2008, 8:03 pm

My friend turned me on to this when I went on Accutane in college (it completely dries out your skin). I started using this balm and never stopped. It is slightly (and i mean barely) iridescent and has the most subtle tint (so don't use it if you are looking for color, but it would probably layer well over lip liner). It doesn't last long but reaplying it is easy and not a social faux-pas like the lipstick at the dinner table and you don't need a mirror. It smells nice but not overly scented and the packaging is cute and retro. December 16, 2007, 5:35 am

After spending 4 hours in the dentist chair, my lips were ready to crawl off my face! Cracked, torn and so sore, they hurt more then the tooth that was worked on. Smith's to the rescue! Within seconds of applying, my lips felt soothed and relieved. Smith's is also a great cosmetic. Sweep a bit on your cheekbones, or tame unruly eyebrows. It also has medicinal value. Rub some into chapped hands or dry heels. I burned my finger on the oven and Smith's soothed the burn and helped it to heal. I love this stuff and never leave home without my little tin of Smith's. This is a great lip balm. I love the scent of it (Rose) and it lasts a long time. I carry one in my purse with me at all times. I also like the tin can that it comes in. Its big enough so that I can put my lips in it and not have to get my fingers messy from applying the lip balm. This salve has other uses (diaper rash, soothing cuticles, etc) but I haven't used it for that purpose. It leaves my lips really soft and supple. May 26, 2008, 6:26 pm

Fabulous--does everything! First of all, it's cheap, but natural, has a great scent, pretty color, but sheer-to-no color on your lips. As a lipgloss--high shine, long-lasting, moisturizing. As a face balm--very gentle, even on my cracked, sensitive cheekbone area. As an eye cream--moisturzing!!Great for chapped elbows, or dry knuckles. I use this everywhere on my body! This salve has more uses than I have room to list! The rose scent is heavenly and the price is great. A little goes a very long way. When used on chapped lips, it leaves a glossy finish that looks nice. My normally dry cuticles are looking good from using it every night, too. I've also used it on minor scrapes with good results. I first purchased this over 8 years ago, and I'm still using it today. I tub usually last me anywhere from 6-10 months. It's essential, IMO. I usually forgo gloss or lipstick when I'm wearing the salve. It has a soft, smooth texture that isn't sticky in the slightest. It doesn't dry out your lips like some other chapsticks can do. Smith's rosebud lip balm needs to be in all of your make up bags! (And at this price, you should be buying them by the handful!) Not only is this a great lip balm, but it also works great for dry skin, rough cuticles and blemishes. There is even a picture of a little baby on the bag of the tin and you can use it for a diaper rash in a bind! I also sometimes use it for my cheeks if I'm in a quick fix for blush.

I've been going through it the past couple of weeks. The cold air and wind have done a number on my skin and lips, and they have been so chapped that I had to do something. I picked up Smith's Rosebud Salve from the spa in my building and my lips were completely transformed. The healing ingredients renewed my skin and relieved my chapped lips. Thank you Rosebud Salve.
