The redheaded starlet is ready to hit the headlines, hair rumors or not.

Emma Stone Struts Sassy Red Hairstyle, But Confesses She's Natural Blonde

Since making her on-screen debut as Jules in the movie, "Superbad," 21-year-old Emma Stone has stolen our teen hearts away with her brazen, down-to-earth comedic skills (she's already proven she can hold her own when joshing with the Judd Apatow crew), and beautiful, sassy redhead looks—the likes of which have not been seen since fellow teen redheads Molly Ringwald and Claire Danes, circa "My So Called Life," left our radar. And let's skip the La Lohan comparisons, if there is any modern-day redhead on par with Stone's saucy, poised charm, it's Christina Hendricks, who, just like the green-eyed Stone, has confessed that her natural hairstyle color is, in fact, blonde.

"I really have blonde hair, but my mom's a redhead," Stone told "Teen Hollywood." "I think it's a skin tone thing, but I love having red hair." Stone points to Director/Producer Apatow, who for the role of Jules, suggested Stone go auburn. "Judd Apatow made me a redhead," Stone quips. "That's when I first dyed my hair red."

Hat tip to Apatow on that savvy coif commendation, which viewers and critics alike have been digging throughout Stone's movies, from "Superbad," "The Rocker," "The House Bunny," and "Zombieland" to her latest flick, "Easy A." The starlet commands audiences in her first leading role in Director Will Gluck's teen movie about a student exploiting sexual rumors about her hooking up with a college guy, in order to gain popularity with her classmates. In a half jester, half tribute to Nathaniel Hawthorne's Hester Prynne, Stone plays up her redheaded, temptress character by attaching a stigmatic scarlet A onto her outfits, which she's seen flaunting in full Stone charm through the school's halls.

Says Gossip Girls' Penn Badgley, who stars as Todd, the high school mascot and Stone's love interest in the movie. "Emma is great. She's super-talented," he told Moviefone at the Toronto Film Festival. "I hope she gets all the attention she deserves from this film. I hope she goes to the top."

And, it appears, Stone is already climbing her way to the top. October 23, she will host "Saturday Night Live" for the first time, a longtime dream of hers. She is also currently working on Gluck's next movie, Friends with Benefits, in where she will star with Hollywood It-crowd-ers Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake—sans any rumors.

"I haven't really heard any [rumors about me], but I keep encouraging people to please make some up," said a joking Stone to "People" magazine. "They are always so much better than the truth."

And what about that rumor about Emma Stone really being a blonde-y versus redhead? I think for most of us auburn-haired Stone fans, we prefer the rumor.
