Step-by-Step Guide to Kissable Lips

Sure, you may have already planned your outfit and found the perfect sexy-yet-romantic hairstyle and sultry-yet-sweet makeup look for Valentine's Day, but there's a pretty important element you do not want to forget: soft, kissable lips.
Let's face it: who wants to smooch someone with a dry, flaky mouth? And in winter, that's exactly what most of us have -- but we can fix it. Just follow this step-by-step guide:
First, you need to exfoliate your lips to get rid of the flakes. You could use a lip scrub product to do the job, or for a more MacGyver approach, just gently brush your lips with a wet toothbrush, or check out this video.
After exfoliating, apply a super-rich lip balm to seal in moisture. You can use the classic Vaseline, or any of these awesome balms.
A few nights of that routine and your lips should be in good shape (it also helps to keep a lip balm on hand during the day so you don't lick your lips -- that just dries them out more). Now on to the fun stuff: what kind of lip style you want. (This quiz can help if you're unsure.) Basically you need to decide if you want to use a plumper, lip gloss, lipstick or just go au naturale. Check out the pros and cons below:
Lip plumper
Pros: Full, pillowy lips he just has to kiss.
Cons: Most sting and guys don't really appreciate stinging kisses.
Willing to endure the sting? Then you'll love these plumpers.
Lip gloss
Pros: Shiny, glistening lips are very appealing.
Cons: Some can be sticky, not a good feeling during kissing.
Want to find a non-sticky gloss? Check these out.
Lipstick
Pros: Colorful lips are very attention-getting.
Cons: He'll have colorful lips post-kiss as well, not what most guys want.

Au Naturale:
Pros: No stickiness or color to rub off.
Cons: Can you say bo-ring?

Whatever your final choice, if you stick with exfoliating and moisturizing you're sure to have totally kissable lips on V-Day -- the rest of the makeout session is in your hands, good luck!
