My Visit to a Skin Therapist

This weekend I was able to experience a Dermalogica Microzone Treatment and Face Mapping session as part of their "Know Your Zones Tour." Kristen mentioned in her earlier blog that Dermalogica is traveling around with their skincare Airstream trailer (which is totally sleek and what I'd go camping in if I were the camping type) giving people detailed information about their skin type and recommending products. (See her blog below for upcoming dates and locations.) Associate editor Charli snapped a shot of me above sitting in the trailer while my friend Kellie gets her treatment -- and made me post it.
Sitting with the skin therapist was almost like visiting a palm reader. By taking a good look at my face, she was able to guess what hand I use to talk on the phone, my face washing habits, my water intake and the amount of stress in my life -- I was impressed. From there she gave me a targeted facial, focusing on the areas of my face that needed the most work. I left with smoother skin, free samples and a new motivation to chug water and wear sunscreen.
If you can check out the tour I highly recommend it -- you can get your face mapped and learn what type of products you should be using. Or if you can't make it in person, get your face mapped on the Dermalogica web site.
