Start with clean hair so there isn't any product residue to muck-up your style (find a good shampoo and conditioner here).

When using creamy styling products, emulsify them in your hands (rub the product in between your palms), so you don't wind up with big chunks of product in your hair.

For a smoother finish with less frizz, blow dry hair in sections.

Put different-sized sections of hair in the curling iron for a more natural, random look.
