Use Sunscreen All Year Long "Don't skip the SPF just because it's less sunny out," Chiu cautions. "UV rays penetrate your skin despite the more gloomy weather." The SPF in your BB cream isn't enough, either. West says to use a sunscreen containing at least 6 percent zinc oxide, and apply it to the face, neck and chest every day before you get dressed.
"You'll be thankful down the road, since it's far [easier] to prevent sun damage than to reverse it," she says.
