Marchesa ... For The Rest Of Us

Marchesa, the high-end UK womenswear company, is a big deal if you're one of the socialites or celebs who can afford the line's drop-dead gorgeous, embellished gowns and handbags. How big? Marchesa was featured the 2009 Vogue cover that was the subject of the documentary The September Issue chronicling the making of the magazine's uber annual issue. (Seriously, anyone else require a visit with a chiropractor after that issue hits your mailbox every year?) Normally the stuff of dreamy, lustful wish listing, Marchesa launched a new contemporary line, Voyage, and it's actually (sort of) within "special splurge" reach for the rest of us. The pieces are (dare we say?) practical, blending the brand's signature bold prints, luxe fabrics and metallic accents with cuts suited for a fancy night out.

"With Voyage, we very much wanted to take the Marchesa DNA but approach the clothing in a very relaxed way, that a woman can wear whether she's going on holiday or on the airplane rather than doing our elaborate embroideries all the time, we've done custom prints that have been hand-painted in our studio. So there really is the essence of Marchesa there, and the same attention to detailing," brand co-owner/designer Georgina Chapman told Vanity Fair Daily.

Prices range from $260 to $1495 (yeah, we're not wearing that on a plane), so it's not exactly budget like Chapman's Pearl by Georgina collaboration with JC Penney earlier this year, but we love the glam-boho looks. Click to see our favorites.
