Female flight attendants "save fuel"? Indian airline GoAir is trying to save money on fuel costs with several measures meant to lighten a plane's load, including only hiring women to be "airhostesses". Male flight attendants, who make up 40 percent of the airline's crew, will retain their jobs, but in addition to trimming the amount of water in tanks and cutting the size of the in-flight magazine (seriously?) the low-cost airline says they'll only hire women for future (effectively banning men from the job) because women weigh an average of 30 to 40 pounds less than men.
