The Worst No. 8: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Foam Wash, $7.99

TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 6.5*
Why: Readers saw mixed results with this cleanser, with some saying "it did nothing" to others saying it left their skin "greasy and broken out." One reviewer says, "This product was terrible on my skin! Not only did it make my skin incredibly oily, but it actually made my breakouts worse!" And another had similar results: "This [cleanser] aggravated what was already problematic on my face, and dried out whatever clear skin remained to the point of flakiness." One woman calls it the "Dry Skin Nightmare" saying, "I used it for a month straight, giving it time to redeem itself, and it simply did not work."

People with acne and acne prone skin are so unique, and because of that different products are going to produce different results. As consumers, we need to do research on ingredients and through trial and error, discover which acne ingredients work for us as individuals. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice having suggestions, but just because it didn’t work for someone else doesn’t mean it wont work for you.

Murad and proactiv really didn't work for me. I have to try out the good stuff, really pricey though.

I disagree with the bareminerals treatment, it works for me. And all the stuff they recommend is pretty expensive.
