7 Makeup Must-Haves for the Gym

let's say i won't take off my makeup before a gym session, but i definitely won't put on makeup FOR a gym session. i think i'd rather invest in some makeup removing towelettes so i won't have the excuse of losing time with removing makeup

I completely agree with the other reviewers, make -up is not necessary at gym. The make-up mixed with sweat can cause problems.

This makes me laugh I do not get ready to go to the gym. If you are working out like you should and sweating then makeup and sweat mixed is not a good thing.

The fact that some people wear specific makeup to the gym is ridiculous. Would you do this if you exercised at home??? Either wear the same makeup you would normally wear on a given day or do the best thing and wear no makeup!!! Talk about high maintenance.

Personally, I don't like wearing makeup when hitting the gym. I like to leave my skin surface clear to allow more oxygen exchange with the skin cells and let the skin breathe. One gets dirty and sweaty enough already from exercising, let alone ending up with smudged eyeliner and mascara along the under eyes, or foundation sweeping off, showing the natural skin tone. It's best to leave the skin in its natural, clear self so that it feels fresh.

I'm just happy to know, I'm not the only person who doesn't want to look completely busted at the gym! I don't wear foundation when I'm working out but I definitely have on a little lipgloss and I always wear brow-gel.

I dont go ANYWHERE without eyebrow gel, even the gym. I have "full" brows, which is code for big and crazy. They have to be tamed by something> I know we dont ententionally slap makeup on to go to the gym, but why hate on people who do?

I go to the gym at my apartment complex (where I live with my fiance) so except for leftover work makeup, I don't wear anything. But if I went to the gym at my office during lunch or something like that, these tips would definitely be helpful.

+1 I agree that is harsh. Like what lipgloss said, most people go to the gym after work and they wear makeup. Big deal. If I go late at night, I throw on some mineral translucent powder because it helps my face from turning into a grease ball. I wear a headband to keep the sweat off my face so I don't sweat off the powder. It's no big deal, more women work out with makeup than you think. Working out makes you feel good about yourself, but for some women, having makeup on makes THEM feel good.

@selma--that's a little harsh. I go to the gym right after work, so I'm usually still wearing makeup. And sometimes on the weekends, I do throw on a little foundation and mascara before heading to the gym, especially if I have an errand to run afterward. My skin is super blotchy and scarred from severe acne. Wearing makeup--anywhere--doesn't make someone shallow, and it doesn't mean they have low self esteem. I wore makeup during all three of my marathons, because my skin is so blotchy, and I knew that my friends and I would take pictures afterwards. I was strong, I was running a marathon, and I was wearing makeup. If other people were judging me, maybe they're the ones who have a self-esteem issue.

I can see a little tinted lip balm or something moisturizing on the lips. I personally HATE all waterproof mascaras, so I'd skip that step. I have no need for a brow gel. Misting spray sounds nice, but not entirely necessary and water in a spray bottle probably does the same job. I own the BB cream, and would maybe apply post workout, but it's not something I would want to sweat in because of the high potential for breakouts.

i can definitely see the point in wearing just a little makeup to the gym, so you can feel really confident for example some waterproof mascara, little smudged eyeliner and some lipgloss :)

Is it really necessary to wear makeup to the gym? Lip liner and eyebrow gel??? I don't get it. Why encourage all sorts of insecurities in ladies? A gym is for working out, sweating out junk from the body, not wearing a pile of makeup. Beauty is not in makeup.

Why would you wear make up while working out?? You're not at the gym to impress anyone with your make up, you are there to work out! Are you aware what people think about women that wear make up at the gym?? Low self-esteem and problems with confidence. Men laugh at those kind of women and with a reason. They looks stupid. So...this is one of the most useless articles I've ever came across.
