The Sophisticated Curly Hair Makeover
TotalBeauty.com reader Theresa goes from boring, frizzy curls to hip, sun-kissed waves -- see her dramatic hair and makeup transformation
The makeup Theresa doesn't normally wear a lot of makeup, so Hollier gives her a simple look that emphasizes her natural features and coloring. She does this by playing up Theresa's eyelashes and brows.
To set the stage for color, Hollier mixes moisturizer with foundation and applies it all over Theresa's skin with a foundation brush for light, natural-looking coverage. She then dabs concealer (try Paul & Joe Beaute Stick Concealer, $24.80) under her eyes and on any imperfections to even out her skin tone. Next, Hollier fills in Theresa's brows to create fullness with a gel eyebrow kit like La Bella Donna Complete Brow Kit in Brunette, $40. Hollier then uses black eyeliner to line Theresa's lash line and an angled brush to smudge it a bit for a less rigid look. After curling her lashes and applying a few coats of black mascara, Hollier dusts the apples of Theresa's cheeks with a bit of apricot blush and slicks her lips in a sheer lip gloss.
