Very few beauty products are as polarizing as lipstick. You either love it or hate it. You're either the kind of girl who wouldn't even be caught dead going to mailbox with bare lips or you only wear it for the most dressy occasions -- or when your mother forces you to. (Yes, mine still does.)
For those of us who fall into the latter category -- or even somewhere between the two -- a couple of new studies might prove interesting. If you care about studies, statistics and what men think.

First off, in an effort to discover which shade of lip color men were most drawn to, researchers at the University of Manchester observed the eye movements of 50 men who were being shown a series of women in photographs. To their amazement, the subjects' eyes lingered longest on the women wearing red lipstick (7.3 seconds). Next were the ladies wearing pink shades (6.7 seconds) and those who barely elicited a glance were the ones with bare mouths (2.2 seconds).
Next, a French study revealed that waitresses who wear, you guessed it, red lipstick, earn 50 percent more in tips than those in other colors or --
mon dieu -- in nothing but Carmex. Why? The men surveyed said that they simply found the ladies in red more attractive. Harumph.
