No surprise here: Your attitude during pregnancy has a major impact on how much weight you gain during it, according to a new study from Penn State's College of Medicine.
Researchers found that overweight and obese women who had the mentality that they were "eating for two" were much more likely to gain excessive amounts of weight during their pregnancies than women who did not hold a similar mentality heading into their pregnancies.

The Institute of Medicine recommends that on average, women within a normal weight range should gain between 25 and 35 pounds during their pregnancies. Women who are overweight or obese, should gain between 11 and 25 pounds. Excessive weight gain during pregnancy could lead to complications during birth or premature birth. [
