You need seven hours of free time a day to be happy. Seven hours a day! According to new research by Direct Line Insurance, if you want a great work-life balance, this is the magic number. However, the study found that after work, sleep, and taking care of family, most of us only have about four free hours a day. Good luck finding the other three. (

Facebook can boost your self-esteem. Believe it or not, Facebook isn't just a platform for judging which of your friends has the cutest baby. A study from the University of Wisconsin-Madison found that after participants looked at their own profile pages for five minutes, they scored higher on a self-esteem test. No word on whether the participants had especially cute babies. (

Sunscreen really does slow aging. We've been telling you SPF fights winkles all long, and new research published in the "Annals of Internal Medicine" in Australia is proving us right. Nine hundred participants were studied over four and a half years -- half were told to apply sunscreen every day, while the other half were told to use their best judgment and apply sunscreen when they were going to be in the sun. The not-so-surprising results? Those who used sunscreen every day had younger-looking skin at the end of the study than those who didn't. (

If you eat when you're distracted, you'll need more sugar and salt to feel satisfied. You probably know that if you eat while you're watching TV or shopping online, you'll probably plow through more food than you really need. Now, new research published in the journal "Psychological Science" shows that you also need saltier or sweeter foods to feel satisfied if you eat while you're distracted. (
