You only need to use Nizoral a few times a week, and in addition to getting rid of dandruff it helps prevent it from returning. Skin Plaque Shampoo is another one of the top dandruff shampoos that costs twenty dollars, and it fights flaking and itching caused by psoriasis. It clears hair buildup within seen days and also contains salicylic acid, which gets rid of fungal infections on the scalp. Tried Nizoral and my experience was that it was extremely harsh on my hair. If you're using any effective dandruff/scalp seborrhea shampoo, it will dry out your hair because the only ingredients that work for that condition are really abrasive on hair. I have yet to find a product that works for both. Although I have found that combing coconut oil through hair does help lift flakes that are stuck to the scalp. Exfoliating the scalp with something with brown sugar is also great because you get the exfoliation to clear the dead skin on the scalp AND the sugar melts and is a great moisturizer. You can only find it at amazon though - its called Bain de Terre Brown Sugar Scalp scrub and its the only product that has worked for the dandruff/dry hair conundrum.
