The Best Foundations For Dry Skin

Suffering from dry skin? Try one of these foundations to help hydrate and smooth your complexion

With all the different foundations that are on the market, how do you know which are the best foundations for dry skin? There are different makeup formulas for different skin types, and if you happen to have dry skin then you should stick to using the appropriate foundation that works best with your skin type. Read on to find out which foundations work well for those with dry skin.

For starters, if you have dry skin then you will want to opt for a liquid-formula foundation, not a powder, which only contributes to the dry appearance of your skin. The best foundations for dry skin tend to say hydrating or moisturizing on the label. If your skin is not sensitive or prone to breakouts than you can wear foundations that have oil in them. Otherwise you should stick to oil-free foundation, but just make sure that you apply a moisturizer underneath first.

One of the best foundations for dry skin is Revlon Colorstay Foundation with SoftFlex, which contains moisturizing ingredients as well as SPF to protect your face from the sun. This foundation offers good coverage as well as a variety of foundation shades for all skin types. Another great foundation is Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Foundation, which is a lightweight formula that includes a multi-peptide complex infused with Dermaxyl in order to smooth out lines. It also contains Argan oil, which offers additional moisturizing properties.

I have dry skin with dry patches here and there, and Revlon Colorstay is definitely good- doesn't accentuate the imperfections. The only problem with it is taking in off. It seems to stay on forever...

Revlon DNA foundation and powder are my favorites. Applied with an Ecotools finishing brush, the foundation looks fresh and dewy all day. The powder, lightly applied with a big, fluffy brush, sets the foundation without altering the finish. I like this duo better than any products I've tried at any price.

If you use mineral powder you can always mix it with your favorite moisturizer to help with your dry skin.
