Louboutin for Your Nails

Christian Louboutin, he of crimson-soled-shoe fame, announced that he is releasing an eponymous beauty collection. His first foray is a nail polish line. It makes sense, considering it was an assistant's red nail polish that inspired the red soles of his shoes in 1992. The first shade, Rouge, hits stores on August 6, with 30 remaining shades following on August 31. At $50 a pop, these nail polishes aren't cheap -- but considering the crystal-facted bottle is a work of art in itself, these polishes can double as vanity decor. After all, Louboutins weren't meant to be put in a drawer.   read more

The Only 3 Moves You Need to Get a Dancer's Body

There's a reason the dancers you see on stage (or on TV shows like "So You Think You Can Dance") look so good: They work hard … like 12-hours-a-day hard. Since most of us don't have the time or desire to work up that kind of sweat, we talked to former New York City Ballet (NYCB) dancer Rachel Piskin and celebrity trainer Anna Kaiser of AKT In Motion to find out how us regular folk (you know, those not training for reality TV stardom) can get the body of a Balanchine muse -- in just three easy, do-anywhere moves a day.   read more

How to Ditch Your Curling Iron Forever

The last time I/the world used foam hair rollers was probably right around the time that blue eye shadow was still a definite fashion "do" and Jessie Spano was tweaking on caffeine pills. But like crop tops and Doc Martens, what was retro yesterday is hot today. To whit, women in beauty-product-obsessed Korea are all over sponge rollers right now. And when summer temps are soaring, getting gorgeous hair without wilting under a curling iron or blow-dryer starts to sound pretty fab. Here's how to get the curly, wavy or voluminous look you're after with foam rollers.   read more

The Kitchen Appliance That's Made for Parents

A lot of interviewers ask me parenting advice like I actually know what I'm doing. It's really cute. These days, I say get yourself a good-quality blender. If you have picky eaters in your family, it's so easy to add nutrient-rich produce to soups and smoothies to make them stealthily nutritious -- and your kids will be none the wiser. I heartily recommend you buy a well-made blender a la my beloved Vitamix and see what fruits and veggies you can sneak into the kiddies' food.   read more

The Fun, Fruity Print That's Everywhere This Summer

The cure for a balmy, sweltering summer: refreshing pineapple prints. This season, bold graphic patterns have hijacked our wardrobes, and taken us straight to the tropics. Dreamy palm fronds and luscious summer fruit are giving us a serious case of island fever. Our favorite fruit-print phenomenon right now, the pineapple, is popping up on scarves, iPhone cases, totes and every accessory you can think of. Adorable, whimsical and breaths of fresh air, they're everything we look for in our summer statement pieces. With brands like J. Crew, Kate Spade and Ann Taylor embracing the pineapple trend, we're sure to see even more sophisticated takes on this pretty, of-the-moment pattern.   read more

We Made the Impossible Happen: 7 (Work-Appropriate) Days of Glitter Makeup

I'm a firm believer that there is no bad time or place to wear glitter. So when Urban Decay's Bondage Weightless Makeup Adhesive landed on my desk, I pronounced that I would wear it (and the Heavy Metal Loose Glitter it works with) every single day if I could. And thus, a challenge was born.   read more

8 Stay-Dry Solutions for Every Sweaty Scenario

Some sweat buckets when working out. Others get drenched when the mercury climbs. There are those who perspire when a deadline looms. And then there are those who sweat pretty much all of the time. Whichever camp you fall into, slyly sniffing your pits when no one's looking or shedding a tear for all the white shirts you've ruined doesn't have to be your daily routine. According to Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank, a cosmetic dermatologist in New York City, finding a stay-dry solution that works depends on the reasons behind your clamminess.   read more
