Not For the Young at Heart
I tried a sample of this perfume and for me it is the perfect example of why I am glad they offer samples! Admittedly, I am not a fan of rose scents (except REAL roses) but when it said it contains sandlewood, which I love, I thought I may like it. I was wrong! I also want to point out here that sandlewood and patchouli are not the same thing (and this perfume does NOT have patchouli in it, like ...read morea couple girls mistakenly said). First of all, I don't even detect sandlewood in it. All I can smell is a very overpowering old rose scent that never toned down on my skin. I left it on hoping it would chill out a bit and maybe get better, but it did not. I think it's actually the vetiver that messes things up here, as I have experimented on my own with essential oils. I read somewhere that this perfume is meant to evoke, "the morning after a love affair", which in Paris is a glorious thing, unlike it is here in the States. However, I find nothing lovely about this perfume and I think it is better suited to an old lady, or as one girl superbly put it, "an old woman who smokes cigarettes and wears too much jewelry and furs". magazine sample
i smelled this in a magazine and really like it. Have applied it twice and feel it doesn't last as long as other favored perfumes (But hey, this is just a magazine strip). If you want to smell like your mother-in-law...
...Then this perfume is for you. I liked the toned down florals and woodsy scent, but it just smelled too much like something my mother-in-law would wear to compliment her velour sweatsuit. Long Lasting Fragrance

It is alright.

I love the smell
I received a sample of this and it is so wonderful. The fragance is wonderful and lasts a long time. I kept sniffing my wrist all day to see how long it kept it's aorma and it just got better and better. Lovely Fragrance
It's a very nice crisp, clean and light floral...elegant and by no means overwhelming. I'm not a huge fan of florals as they do not "stay with me" for very long, but Parisienne did remain longer than most. High Quality
The smell kind of reminded me of YSL Baby Doll. I would say this is a cooler scent but I myself like warmer scents. A little of this perfume goes a long ways. It is long lasting and is obviously high quality. I think this is more of a Spring/Summer scent than a Fall or Winter one. I've found a new favorite.
I've never had a parfum, that stayed on through the whole day, till I tried Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne Eau de Parfum. Sure, you had have expensive brands that promise a lot, and cost even more...but this really delivers. I love the Blackberry,Damask Rose, and the Sandalwood smell. Not a bad scent, but no lasting power
I had to read the card several times. It says it is a Eau de Parfum, but I have had Eau de Toilettes last longer. The scent isn't bad. They have it right, it is a very feminine, girly scent. However, I agree with some reviewers who compare it to an "old lady" smell. It does smell like a very classic perfume. For me it left some things to be desired. I usually wear Juicy Couture, L...read moreacostte Inspiration, or Vera Wang Princess. It didn't seem to stay with me like those scents do. I understand that a quality perfume is supposed to fade throughout the day and change, but midday the scent isn't even recognizable. I've also received zero compliments on it.
