Fabulous scent
First I have to say that I rarely if ever wear perfume, but I got a free sample of this and absolutely love it. My husband really liked it was well...and he generally hates perfume :) What I liked about it was that it wasn't overpowering or overly "perfumy" (I don't know the right terminology!), but had a fabulous light floral scent. Very versatile
I loved the lightness of this perfume. It was very refreshing and could be used during the day or in the evening. The length of wear was dissappointing. If you prefer a floral-woodsy scent, you might like this
I got a sample of this in the mail to review and I would describe this perfume as woodsy and floral at the same time. When I first applied it on, the floral aspect of it was more overpowering than the woodsy scent. As the day wore on, it was the reverse in that the scent gave way to a more subtle woodsy essence. Instead, this perfume reminds me of an overpowering floral-woodsy incense, especially when first applied. Keep in mind that I'm trying to describe something that is highly subjective. With MY skin chemistry, this is how the scent turned out. Your experience *may* vary. With this said, I prefer a more lighthearted, oriental woodsy smell as opposed to an overpowering floral-woodsy one. I would describe this perfume as "mature" as opposed to "innocent." The meek shall inherit YSL's Parisienne
Yes, you read right: this fragrance is WAY too soft for this Parisienne. YSL tried hard to master a fragrance with a "grand floral with a woody structure...with notes of Blackberry, Damask Rose and Sandalwood." But what they ended up with was a soft, soft, soft, scent (I had to spray FIVE times for it to even reach my nose) that has a powder-like aroma of Damask Rose with hints of a berr...read morey - which might be the Blackberry. I can't smell the "woody structure" or the Sandalwood. This fragrance reminds me and smells like a soft Stella McCartney perfume (very rose-sey floral). As a fan of YSL's dynamic "Elle" perfume, I was very disappointed with this, because it smells like a cheap, rose scented, baby powder. The bottle is gorgeous, the ad with Kate Moss was beautiful and artsy, but the scent is a disappointment. Rose scent
This perfume has a rose scent, which is delicate and feminine. The word that jumps to my mind is "nice." I like this scent well enough but it really sort of reminds of the moroccan rose line the Body Shop has, so if you don't feel like paying for YSL you have an alternative. old lady in a forest scent
I don't know, it's ok. It's not the best and far from the worst. It just reminds me of my grandmother and trees. It's kind of strong, like if you walk by someone, they smell it, but it doesn't linger like others do. I guess it's something I'd try for free, but not buy. Very nice if you can tolerate sandalwood
I cannot tolerate woodsy scents such as sandalwood and patchouli, and when first applied that is all that I could detect. After the scent wears down I began to notice the red berries essence and the calming vetiver. The fragrance becomes subtle, but all that I can really smell is the sandalwood and patchouli, yet it is tolerable and almost alluring to me. Pretty Scent
I got a free sample today from totalbeauty and usually I am not fond of YSL perfumes but this one is quite different because it does not have an overly heavy musky smell. I am not good with detecting tones of scent but I do smell a slightly woody floral scent. I notice I only need a very little on for it to last. Usually I go for fresh and light floral scents but this one is quite nice. I can see myself wearing this at a night out with my bf or friends.
