Classic scent
I like woodsy scents, however I don't care for rose scents. I can see where other reviewers have said it smells "old" ... I would say "classic", as in I would purchase this for my mom or grandmother and I'm pretty sure they would love it. I need something a bit lighter with some citrus scent for myself. Sophistication and sexy appeal
This scent is significant and lasting, undeniably lush and floral, but also sophisticated and sexy. It's a woodsy floral with some classic notes: Damask Rose, violet, peony, cranberry, patchouli, vetiver, musk and sandalwood. But it also has some interesting and more unique notes: vinyl gloss (in homage to the stiletto heel), and lacquer -- the scent of cosmetics, and of a hot night "up on th...read moree roof." Put it all together, and you've got the essence of a French woman! At first sniff, the scent feels strongly fruity, but not in the ordinary, top heavy citrus that so many fragrances, feature. Instead, you can really smell the berry. But it mixes quickly with powdery violet and rose. As the scent dries down, you really notice the rose. This type of mix can often become too sweet, depending upon your body chemistry, but in Parisienne, the notes are artfully blended into the patchouli, sandalwood and musk, to create a romantic fragrance that has staying power and packs a romantic punch. I think this scent will be a great special occasion or evening scent. Not for me.
Let me start off by saying I don't like scents that are really feminine, and unfortunately, this one is. It's very light though and it does last a long time. I spritzed in the morning before work and could still smell hints of it at the end of the day. I gave it to a friend who only wears feminine scents and she loves it. Very nice scent
I really like this scent! It's soft yet has staying power. It is a bit pricey for me because I usually buy Bath and Body Works sprays for $10.50 and this one starts at $39. I probably like it too because it does have a slight fruit scent mixed in. Makes me feel very feminine
I received a sample of this fragrance from this web site and was asked to write a review. I used it a couple of times before reading the description of this fragrance. Once I read the description, I knew why I liked it; it contains damask rose and sandalwood scents, which are two of my favorites. This is actually a rather old fashioned scent, and I consider it to be a compliment. It's so feminin...read moree and flowery that I feel like I should be wearing a silk gown trimmed with lace. I happen to like sandalwood very much, so this was very pretty to me. The floral aspect is not too bad, but eventually the sandalwood comes out..I didn`t think it had a long lasting ability for some reason. Not a floral fan
I will say that this was a long-lasting fragrance, and dried down to a more woodsy floral, as positives. For some reason, it vaguely reminded me of Hypnose as a scent. The scent grew on me!
I admit it, I have used the same fragrance for over 25 years although I do sample other fragrances I always go back to my signature scent. Having said that, I thought that "Parisienne" might be too flowery for me. I found myself liking it the more I wore it. It is a soft fragance, and I see why some other reviewers might not like the woodsy notes. Dated Fragrance
Instantly reminded me of a older woman who wears too much perfume. Its not super heavy, but it has that dated fragrance. It is not youthful at all. Floral-ish baby powder smell with sandalwood underneath. Thankfully, it didn't last long at all.
