  • Get Tips on How to Look Hirable from Make Up, Hair and Career Experts

  • As I was getting reading for work this AM (see how to look awake and refreshed -- every morning), I heard on NPR that the number of CEOs planning to resurrect something called hiring is at an all time high since mid-2007 -- this is according to a survey that implies that large U.S. companies are becoming more confident about the economic recovery.

  • Okay, so now that the pendulum is swinging and more companies are hiring, you now need to know how to look hirable. You can perfect your job interview style with these tips from makeup, hair and career experts.

  • Tip 1: Accessorize your way to success

  • First, choose an outfit that means business. Dr. Frankel, our career expert, says your no-fail option is a navy pantsuit, conservative dress, or dress/skirt with a jacket that covers any tattoos or body piercings. See what else she says.

  • Tip 2: But don't get accessory crazy

  • It only takes one too many bedazzled hair pins to turn your flare into folly. Though it's easy to get excited and pair your favorite hoop earrings with a vintage jeweled barrette or to try a new trend like feathered headbands (seen here on Eva Mendes), resist overdoing it. See how to tone it down.

  • Tip 3: Choose a hairstyle that works for you

  • Frankel's very-important hair advice: DO NOT sport a hairstyle that will allow you to play with your hair. Any twirling, flipping, fussing or touching of your hair in general, makes you appear fidgety, unprofessional and insecure. See what else she has to say about this.

  • Tip 4: Cover your roots

  • Hair that's in serious need of a color touch-up shows your interviewer that, yeah, you're in serious need of a job (or cash), but is that really the look you want to present to them? See why you should cover up grey and how to do it.

  • Tip 5: Wear the right amount of makeup

  • Makeup should definitely be worn to a job interview, says Frankel. The fact is, most people look better with makeup (hard to admit, but so true), and it can also make you look more awake and alert -- something your future employer will be looking for. Read more on this.

  • Tip 6: Avoid a makeup meltdown

  • Apply your eyeshadow before your under eye concealer. This way, if your shadow falls as you apply it, you can clean it up before covering that area with concealer. Dedivanovic swears this trick goes a long way in making you look sophisticated. Get some more tips to keep your makeup in tact.

  • Tip 7: Pay attention to details

  • Now that you know what to wear, how to accessorize and how to do your hair and makeup, don't overlook the details like what fragrance to wear and how you should do your nails.

  • And follow these steps to get the perfect job interview-approved ponytail or this sophisticated, voluminous look, then pair your 'do with a perfectly professional makeup look.

  • • When you get the job (or if you already have one) try one of these 9 office-friendly hairstyles.

  • • Wanna look like you're not trying so hard? Try the no-makeup makeup look.
