What Makes French Women So Darn Easy, Breezily Beautiful?
Experts reveal the secrets behind their seemingly unattainable loveliness
In a new attempt to get to the bottom of this age-old mystery, Stylelist.com picked the brains of two of their French BFFs who revealed the scoop for us Hoi Polloi to ingest and follow accordingly.
Here are a few of their hints:
A famed dermatologist named Isabelle Bellis, says that facial massages are clutch. "French women are obsessed with face massages to maintain a healthy glow, skin tissue health and relieve facial stress (which leads to problems of stress and elasticity)."
Bellis also emphasizes the importance of easing up on the war paint. The women de Gaulle eschew heavy bases and foundations and, "prefer bare skin with a touch of lipstick, mascara and blush."

When it comes to skin care, Bellis says that the secret is to refrain from over-washing your face. "A good cleaning in the evening is sufficient, followed by an appropriate toner and serum/evening cream. In the morning, just spray thermal water to remove what the skin has liberated during the evening. Follow with an appropriate toner and day serum/cream."
The overall takeaway from the secrets spilled is that French women don't overdo their looks as much as the rest of us -- they exercise restraint when it comes to makeup, hair styling and skin care. And, if you've ever read "French Women Don't Get Fat," you know the same can be said about their eating habits. Bottom line: Less is more. Give it a try and you may be feeling Ooh-la-la-licious tout de suite.
