Dark Circles and Puffy Undereye Bags Bumming You Out? Technology to the Rescue
An avant-garde Taiwanese gadget is purported to cure all that ails your eyes
We are not making this up. According to the thoroughly fact-checked Wall Street Journal, a company called Tokuyo -- just one of many firms that produce eye-massaging contraptions in Taiwan -- has seen sales skyrocket over the last six months or so.
"We’ve been selling eye massagers for years with steady sales, but this year there has been a noticeable jump in demand," a sales manager tells the paper. He also thinks he understands why. "We believe it is because more people have tired eyes from looking at screens all day."
In fact, so many Taiwanese suffer from computer, tablet and Smartphone eyestrain and resulting dark circles and undereye bags that more and more companies are jumping on the electronic goggle bandwagon manufacturing models that boast an dizzying array of bells and whistles. From styles that can play soothing music as they "massage," to ones that incorporate eyeball acupuncture (!), these doodads are flying off shelves.

Of course, as with most Sharper Image/Sky Mall type gadgets, the efficacy of the experience with these massagers can vary greatly and the "science" behind the concept may seem more steeped in Sci-Fi novella-ese than actual physiological facts. Then again, with sales skyrocketing, they may just be on to something.
Would you be willing to try a pair to see if it rendered reasonable results? You can scoop 'em up on Ebay for a mere $53.80 plus shipping. (Or, you could just try one of these really great undereye creams.)
