The Real Deal About Body BB Creams

I'm not sure why I didn't take notice when Jergens' breakthrough BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream came out last year -- when women were paying three times the retail price on eBay/selling their first-born children to get the stuff. I guess I was too busy smearing diluted tinted moisturizer on my legs. (It's just for special occasions! Don't judge me!) Suffice it to say when word of this body BB cream came my way, I was intrigued. I've spent so many cumulative hours trying to elevate this mug of mine from "blotchy Northern European pale-face" to "Christina Hendricks alabaster" that taking a few seconds to apply a tone-enhancing, skin-perfecting product on my body seemed completely appropriate.   read more

13 Super-Chic Bikinis for Women Who Hate Bikinis

Did you know that three out of five women would rather have a Pap smear every day for a week than wear a triangle top bikini in public? (Just try diving into a strong wave if you don't believe us.)   read more

13 Ways to Work Messy Bedhead Hair

It takes a special kind of gal to wake up in the morning, give her hair a quick fluff or twist and head out the door looking genuinely hot. Most of us would get a sympathetic look, an inquiry about our general health or possibly a request to undergo a drug test. That's because that just-rolled-out-of-bed hair usually translates to just-rolled-off-a-garbage-truck hair in real life. But what if you could make bedhead work for, not against you? What if you could take that natural-texture, cool-fuzziness thing you've got going on in the A.M. and make it look chic -- without a lot of fuss? Try these quick styles and little tweaks for making the most of your slept-in locks.   read more

11 Genius Bathroom Organization Ideas

So there I was, lingering in a steamy, fragrant bubble bath, mulling over which of my dozens of TotalBeauty.com Award-winning products I was going to try, when my new plastic shower caddy broke under the weight of my bath product bounty and a family-size bottle of DHC shampoo fell on my head. It was my Isaac Newton-apple moment: I was suddenly, and literally, struck by the limitations of most manufactured bathroom organization products.   read more

Can Pickle Juice Cure a Hangover?

In Mexico, it's tripe soup. In Japan, it's salted plums. And in the United States, aka the Home of Intellectual Giants, it's rabbit poop tea. It would seem that there's no solution for "curing" a hangover that doesn't involve swallowing something totally nasty and/or inflicting additional suffering upon your wizened, wasted body. So we're here to help you sort hangover-cure fact from fiction. We consulted with Nicolette Pace, a dietician/nutritionist, and conducted our own (very unscientific) study to find out what weird hangover remedies really work. Here are the hangover cures that soothed our symptoms -- and the ones that sent us to the ninth circle of hangover hell.   read more
