7 Ways to Look and Feel Better in 2012 [SLIDESHOW]

We're a couple of weeks into the new year and I just have to ask; Did you make any of those "typical" New Year resolutions? You know, lose weight, eat healthy, stress less, find more "me-time?" Not me.

Sorry, but those resolutions have a high potential for failure. And the mere thought of failing seriously stresses me out, which in turn sends me straight to the couch with a jumbo-sized bag of Lays (see where I'm going with this?).

My alternative strategy for 2012: I'm going to start with the small stuff.

For example, my resolutions this year aren't dependent on total abstinence from chocolate and total adherence to new "rules" I don't have the willpower to follow. Instead, I am laser-focused on one area that desperately needs work: nixing my bad beauty habits. My theory? Reaching these little goals will help me gain the momentum I need to tackle the bigger stuff.

    Once again, I couldn't agree with you more! I think New Year resolutions are a set up for failure. My focus for this year is to be consistent with my morning routine. I need to use toner to clarify, firming serum with antioxidents, retinol, and sunscreen. Plus, if I don't even out my skin tone, add a little color to my cheeks, and put on my mascara (of course), then when I get a call to go up to my son's school, or a friend invites me to lunch, I look like a terrible before picture. I figure if I take such care to always be consistent with my PM skincare, why am I not taking the few extra steps to look put together during the day no matter what! So far, so good!
