  • Can You Literally Sue Someone for Wearing Too Much Perfume?

  • You know that coworker. The one who bathes in perfume? Leaves behind a wall of scent you slam into on your way to the coffee machine? Well here's some retribution to anonymously post on her cube wall...

  • A Detroit city worker says her coworker's too-strong perfume makes it too difficult for her to breathe and do her job. So she's suing!

  • Hey, I support smelling nice. I'm always consumer-testing new deodorants to see which ones really work (and don't). And while it can be easy to sort through all the new perfumes to find the right one for me (this quiz helped), I still have to remember, there's a fine line between smelling good... and just smelling.

  • So is there somebody at your office who's guilty? (Or is it you?) Should perfume be banned at work?

  • Check out these nose-friendly stories:

  • • Bad perfume is one thing, but these makeup blunders are in a whole other league.

  • Find a fragrance that wont get you sued.

  • • Who doesn't want to smell like Mariah Carey? What does that even mean?

    • When I was pregnant with my son, I worked at BWI Airport for Maryland Aviation Administration. One of the ladies who worked in the front part of the office could not smell she had some kind of medical issue so she wore her fav perfume very heavy, it was Clinique the real dark one, she would walk to her desk and the two secritaries would make loud rude comments to her so she would go to her desk and spray more on each time these girls would say something!! Well I was always feeling very sick and the perfume wars were not helping!! Everytime she would walk near me I would fight the urge to gag and violently throw up in my waste basket. Finally after being sick enough I stormed up to the secretaries and told them if they would stop saying things to the lady she would stop trying to kill us by suffication and the next BTCH who opens her mouth and cause her to spray that bottle again I was going to throw up on their desk! To this day when I smell that scent I gag!! I remember when the postal carriers brought this to court or something.

    • I think that using the legal system regarding this is a little frivolous... there are other ways this can be handled. A little communication goes a long way! In my opinion, I think fragrance is personal, and it\'s for you to enjoy. Not necessarily everyone within a 20-foot radius. So we all should keep that in mind while spritzing away. Everyone\'s nose is different so we never know what someone else may find offensive-- it\'s best to err on the side of caution and keep it light. It really bothers me if I\'m out and I\'m trying to enjoy a meal and all I can smell is someone\'s White Linen while I\'m trying to taste delicious food.
