Good mascara but . . .
I really like the mascara but am not crazy about the applicator. The mascara is creamy, goes on smoothly and doesn't clump. I am not crazy about the applicator as it takes me longer to do my lashes than 'regular' shaped mascara brushes. I haven't used it all so I will continue to try it out and maybe I will become more adept at it. Good Mascara formula, bad application wand!
Generally, I liked this mascara but I have tried better. The formula of the mascara performed well, it made my small short blond stubby eyelashes a nice black color and definately made my lashes more noticable. One con though was the fact that it does smudge. Aditionally, it took for ever to apply this mascara due to the shpere ended wand. Love the wand!
UPDATE: I had to lower the rating from 9 to 7 because after just three months, I noticed the mascara got thicker and gunky inside the tube (and I know I closed it well & I always kept it in a cool place) and it was difficult to apply. At first I thought it was going to be hard to work with the wand, but at some point it became very easy. Normally I would have hated having to "learn" to work with a product like a mascara, but I have learned to work fast with this one and did it because it's so easy to apply the product in the smallest of lashes, on the lower lashes and the inner and outer corners of my eyes. The product does separate and lengthens my naturally curled lashes without flattening them. I do not think they look thicker though. You do have to work fast with the wand, before the product sets or you can get a bit of clumping. I love love love how spiky my lashes get with this mascara. The formula is really good, they mean it with the no smudging or flaking claims, this last for hours. The price is average, same as other Loreal mascaras but come on guys, change the packaging. Wow! What mascara are you wearing?
I didn't tell anyone I was reviewing this product. People noticed right away. I noticed right away. My lashes are thin and so I usually opt for a volumizing mascara which can be clumpy. This mascara made my lashes look longer, darker and more defined. Not clumpy at all. By contrast, I recently bought an expensive designer mascara with a ball shaped brush. I did not get the same results. The L'Ore...read moreal version is not quite a ball shaped brush by comparison and for that reason, I think it beats the competition, no question. It's easier to use. Wow, I actually have noticeable lashes
OK, so I have pretty typical Asian lashes -- not super long, thick or curved. So finding a mascara that actually makes it look like I have real lashes -- almost fake in places -- is pretty amazing. The brush: a little hard to use in the beginning, but the learning curve is pretty quick. The first couple of times took a little extra time and effort (still pretty minimal ... I mean, it's mascara, n...read moreot a couch from Ikea), but after that it was pretty effortless. And it really DOES grab every little lash and make it pop. In my world, this is a serious plus. The formula: a little clumpy, which is disappointing. And since the brush is shaped the way it is, it's hard to wipe the brush against the inside lip of the bottle while pulling it out to remove some of the excess formula. I suppose, though, if you wiped of the extra on a piece of tissue, it'd be better. Also, definitely not waterproof. It doesn't promise it is, but I learned this the hard way when I went for a lunchtime walk and it slowly sweated into my eyes. Painful. Overall: I think the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Not very impressive
Personally, I don't understand all the hype about this product. My lashes are neither extremely long, short, thick, or thin- I'd say they are average. Still, I only need a regular brush to get to all of them. In the fashion shows I do makeup artists rarely go crazy on the bottom lashes, no matter what the look is. I like to do three to four coats of Dior Show and Maybeline's signature mascara in very black- that covers all my lashes and gives me great volume. Not blown away.. not explosive at all. I guess it's a novel idea, but there are much better mascaras out there that make your lashes fuller. As far as it's claim to make the outer lashes come out more, I suppose it does, but you can get the same result with a regular brush if you know how to use it properly. I am a devotee of Diorshow mascara, which does cost quite a bit more. But then, I like really dramatic lashes. It could have been better
After trying this mascara, I was a little disappointed...the product claims to "grab every little hair with the rounded brush...", but barely did this. The formula was good; it didn't clump which is a plus. For it's price, this seems to be a good product. I use this first and then layer another volume enhancing mascara over it and it comes out really nice that way. The wand is a little long, making it hard to manuver. Great wand!!!
I really liked the wand on this mascara. It was easy to get in the corners of my eyes and put mascara on the lashes that I didn't even know I had. Disappointment
I bought this mascara as I loved the telescopic length (gold tube) but I was really disappointed. The end of the wand was really wobbly and made it hard to control. It took ages to apply as well.
