Add lotion to this for a more natural look!

Used straight, this lotion can be streaky and too strong-smelling. The solution to this problem is to add your regular body moisurizer to it, getting less extreme tanning results each time that you can can blend better, with no streaks and a lighter smell. The lotion contains more DHA than necessary, so diluting it helps a lot. Doing that, you also double the number of applications you get from one bottle, for an exceptional value.

Works Pretty well

This tanner does work mostly because it's gradual. You can stop applying it as soon as you get the color you want. That said it is a little orange if used too much. Making the ankles and knees look normal was a little bit of a challenge too.

make sure that you follow direction

it take longer to absorb, it will take you longer to learn how to use correctly too. one of those allure articles would help but in the meantime I noticed an uneven aspect to my tan. not good.

Orange!

At first I loved the idea behind this lotion. It builds color much faster than other tanning moisurizers. Also you can customize the color based on use...or so I thought. I used it for about a week. It streaked quite easily (maybe because I do have fairly pale skin) and it left this unnatural color on my skin. Oh yes! And we must not forget the horrible chemical smell...I wouldn't buy this again.

Beware when using this it will turn you an orange color. YUCK!

Works well

I use this every spring. I tan easily but I am very light skinned to start off. This product goes on just like a regular moisturizing lotion dries quickly and leaves me with a nice glow. I use it once a week until my actual tan starts to show up, or before I go on vacation. It smells a little like tanner but it isn't ridiculously strong and ummm ot washes off lol. The more I use it the deeper my color gets. My color doesn't wash off and fades gradually.

YUCK

THIS STUFF IS THE WORST! I LOOKED LIKE AN OOMPA LOOMPA THAT WAS SHEDDING ITS SKIN. never buy this. gross color and feel to the product.

I like this product a lot.

I just found a bottle of this that I had bought last year, but had misplaced. I couldn't remember how well it worked, but to my surprise gave me a noticeable color after only 2 applications. When putting it on, I make sure to exfoliate and then stand it front of the mirror and put it on in sections, making sure to rub it in thoroughly so it doesn't get streaky. I have a pale olive skin tone and it...read more leaves me with a natural color. The smell takes some getting used to, but is bearable. I would recommend this to anyone.

Good Color- Bad Smell

This product gets a lot of harsh reviews, but I don't think it's as bad as some of them say. Now, I know the smell isn't the greatest. And as with all gradual self tanners, it sucks having to put it on every day or two (especially if you're using it for your whole body). But I actually really like the color Build A Tan gives me. It's a light to medium shade that looks very natural. If it smel...read moreled better and lasted longer, I'd probably use this one all the time. But as it is, I'd only use it occasionally for my legs or something like that!

Natural Looking

I really like this product because unlike Jergens, it doesnt turn me orange! Also unlike Jergens, it doesnt stink. I find that with this self tanner, I get a very healthy and natural looking glow within a couple of days. The only thing I don't like is that it is very quick to turn the palms of my hands orange. Make sure to ALWAYS wash your hands after using this, or any other self tanning product.
