Don't get discouraged- great as a base too!
I've heard a lot of talk about this product, and I have to say I love it. As long as you can handle a mascara wand, it's kind of difficult to smudge and it washes off nicely. I personally use it as a base for two coats of Maybelline's lash blast after curling and get enormous star-worthy lashes! for the price it's truly a great buy!This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Terrible stuff
For years I've been reading in every magazine how fantastic this macara is. Seriously? Unless you have naturally long, thick lashes - it is, in my opinion, THE worst mascara out there. Don't understand the hype...???
When this product is fresh, it does seem to apply nicely and give you nice, dark, long, separated lashes, but give it two weeks and it turns TERRIBLE! The other thing I HATE about it is that it totally smudges under my eyes within a few hours. Mabeline Great Lash
I have been using (no lie) 30 years. I love the stuff. It say's on this page that it retails at $9.00, but I get it for no more than $7.00. My lashes are in great shape with or without the mascara. TERRIBLE PRODUCT

Disappointing
I recently picked up Great Lash again after many years of trying other mascaras. It's general reputation as a "must have" along with a vague memory of liking it convinced me to try it again. Boy, was I wrong!!! It is very thin, goes on very quickly with good coverage, but the widely-spaced brush clumped my lashes into spiky groups that couldn't be separated (not with their brush, anywa...read morey). I do like the blackest black color - it truly is very very black. Unfortunately, that black typically ended up everywhere! Even though it didn't extend my lashes very much, I still ended up with mascara dots on top of my shadow on my upper lid, and had TONS of it under my eyes, just from blinking!!! & I didn't even put any on my lower lashes! If I had to leave the house within about 30 minutes after applying it, it would run down my face with the least provocation. I couldn't even touch up my under-eye concealer or moisturizer (most of which would come off while I was trying to get rid of the large mascara smears) for about an hour without the danger of it running even more. I just can't understand the longevity of this product, or why some women (many in the beauty industry) swear by it. Really Really Overrated
I bought this mascara because of all the hype. I've been sorely disappointed. It clumps up the lashes it gets and misses others. I also have problems with it smudging. The top lashes leave marks on my eyelids and the bottom lashes smudge underneath like Alice Cooper. Great lash
