Clumpy... and I mean wow!
As soon as the wand touched my lashes it felt like the brush was just soaked with mascara. It clumped so bad and so much was applied at once. To fix it I had to manually separate my lashes from the 5 distinct mega-lashes this brush created. I eventually just used some eye-makeup remover and started over. I don't have that high of standards for my mascara but this was just not good! I had heard that this little mascara worked so well for the price and it's been around forever. I have to admit that I don't know why. I don't give out 1's... but there was just nothing good about this... I admit that I didn't buy this product myself. I was borrowing from a friend when I used it... I don't know if I just got a bad one or what but we both agreed that this was the worst mascara we'd ever tried! Overall, there are way better mascaras for the price. Try Covergirl Professional or Maybelline One-by-One. Didn't live up to the hype
This was a decent mascara, but definitely NOT what I had in mind. You have so many celebrities, blogs, and makeup artists raving about it and declaring it a 'must have' and its claim on the ad of one being sold every seconds, which I don't doubt, considering how publicized it is. The reason I gave this such a low rating is not because of the actual quality, it's due to how disappointed I was. It w...read moreasn't a 'holy grail' mascara. It didn't thicken/volumize my lashes at all, but did lengthen them quite a bit. However, they looked spiky, almost crunchy, and felt so stiff. It also flaked. This is going to sound odd also, but the brush hurt! Those little spikes, if they happen to touch your eye... Not spectacular

10 Best Mascaras -- EVER -
no drama.
My first opinion about the packaging was, "awwww it looks cute" Its just like the previous maybelline mascara but the difference is in the brush, the brush is conical in shape it works really well, the thin end of the brush picks up the inner corner of the lashes without smearing it allover the eyes, its very user friendly and the thick end of the brush volumises the outer corner of the lashes, ...read moreit picks up the smallest of the lashes and make them look bold. The feature i was so exited about was , that you don't have to wait for the mascara to dry between the coats, which is awesome in my book, despite of the package saying that it wont clump , it does clump after a couple of coats. When it comes to taking it off, its easy, no mascara goop, no raccoon eyes and it comes off easy with soap and water. I used this mascara for wayyy too long, purely out of habit, as it was one of my "go to" products when I first started wearing makeup in the 80's. Now I realize it is just so-so. I wasn't a huge fan of this mascara. It seemed to clump quite a bit when I first purchased it, but I suppose that it is an alright product for the price that you pay. Maybelline New York Great Lash in clear
I have been using the Great Lash clear mascara for as long as i can remember it and i recently got my SIL hooked as well. I think this is perfect for day wear, because it defines the lashes and the clear formula gives a sheen as well. I don't see a "lenthening" effect but that is not why i bought it. I have slightly curled lashes, they are a little long so I mostly want to emphasize them. I use t...read morehis under the black mascara i use in the evenings. here is my tip if you want to use try : I brush and separate my lashes before applying mascara and wipe of excess product off the brush because i find that excess product is what clumps the lashes. then I apply one coat on the top lash. For evenings I apply a coat, wait for it to dry then follow up with a black mascara, wait for it to dry and then just slightly run the brush to give my lashes a sheen.
