This stuff works!
Really great primer, keeps the shadow on without any creasing! Goes on silky too, no dragging or pulling like with some drier primers. Make sure to apply shadow within 5 min max though or it looses it's effectivity. Good but not great
I have used many primers and I have to say this is not my favorite. I will still swear by Paula Dorff's eyeshadow primer and have yet to find one to match its excellence. The problem I had with Urban Decay's is the packaging for one. I don't like the sponge tip applicator at all. Also, once you're running low you find yourself in the same pickle as when you run low on mascara... swirling the wand ...read morearound hoping to get any little sort of product on the sponge tip. It's very light compared to the PD one I prefer but I feel like for me it just makes my eyeshadow look a little creamy which I do not care for. The shadow does last a little longer than using it without primer but I feel like it doesn't do much for enriching the pigments and making them really POP! Amazing
Best primer ever! I have used other including Too Faced and Bare Minerals but Urban Decay Primer Potion is the best. Make my eyeshadows apply smoothly and the last all day without creasing. Just OK Primer
I wanted to like this primer. Great color and texture but it doesn't do the job too well for me over my sunscreen. Within an hour or two my makeup was seriously faded. A Keeper for Now
Hearing this primer was a cult fav I decided to pick some up after running out of my staple primer by OFRA. After using an eye primer in general I don't think I'll ever be able to go sans primer again. OFRA is slightly more expensive and I can only order it online. I hear there have been changes to the Primer Potion packaging. My tube has a nice needle nose type despenser, very easy to squeez...read moree out small amounts so not to be wasteful. I love the fact that this seems to dry as soon as you smooth onto lids. It also disappears against my fair skin. OFRA primer is an old school creamy white deal. The first litmus test I tried with the Primer Potion was just a normal day of neutral shadow. 8 hours later my eye make up was just as vibrant as when originally applied. The next day I used the primer underneath a loose powder. I ended up mowing my grass in 80 degree weather. This was not my original intent, but to my surprise my eye make-up stayed put. Greatly impressed by this feat, the third day I tried the primer underneath my nemesis, creamy eye shadow. While the eye shadow did seem more vibrant w/ the primer vs itself alone, two hours later I did notice creasing. Generally I don't wear creamy shadow on my oily lids for this very reason. Perhaps when this tube is finished I'll test run Too Faced. I hear they have a good primer. Primer extraordinaire!
This legendary, much adored, reviewed, idolized, and superbly addictive Urban Decay eye shadow primer potion is a veritable wonder-product. With recent changes in shape and colour, due to the addition primers with different finishes, to it's pretty shiny lilac packaging, it is back and better than ever! It used to be in this purple genie-bottle package with a straight wand for direct application, ...read morewhich was very impractical as it was impossible to get a straight wand through the curves of a bottle to remove all the product in the curves inside the bottle and hence massive product wastage would always occur, as well as money wastage from having to purchase another sooner than necessary! The first revamp of this packaging saw a new bent wand being introduced, which was somewhat more effective than its predecessor but still not 100% good at getting all the product out. Thankfully the folks at headquarters heard the pleas of many and have since introduced a squeeze tube bottle!! The product itself is wonderful and has a dual function of making eye shadows hold fast as well as making colours much more vibrant. The formula dries almost instantly and I really do like the Eden version of this which dries to a lovely matte finish. The original dries invisibly but stays on through sweat, heat, and tears. It is removable with your everyday make up remover. In addition, what I am also very pleased with is the fact that this primer potion makes an otherwise unwearable eye shadow, due to high fallout, stick to my eyelids and thus, the eye shadow is no longer unwearable! Blending has not been a problem for me despite it's firm hold on eye shadow, perhaps it's a very little less smoothly blend-able than bare skin, but really, will it's hold and enhancement of eye shadows, I should not complain. I love that this primer looks like it is tinted, but it goes on clear. Only need a little and it prepares the eyelids for eyeshadow. Any brand I use now lasts all day! The only way it comes off is if I am ready to take it off. Good stuff!
