Natural and light
My sisters bought this starter kit as a birthday gift a year ago and I have been using it since. It's so easy to use and it doesn't even feel like you are wearing any makeup. A life (well, skin) saver!
Last May, I turned 35 and all hell broke loose in my body. Among the many things that changed was my facial skin. Suddenly, makeup that had worked with my skin and looked good for years was looking weird and causing breakouts! In desperation, I ran to my favorite cosmetics store and found this kit. It was the best grab I've made (in a costmetics store, anyway) in years. I'm hooked...
I got this starter set over a year ago and have not gone back to other foundation and don't think I ever will.. I was so impressed how easy it is to apply and gives such a natural look. It makes my skin look radient and naturally healthy instead of cakey and made up... I was hesitant at first about if there would be enough coverage with this makeup but surprisingly using a diferent brush such as t...read morehe coverup brush gives you more coverage on certain spots like on blemishes or under the eye area etc. using the same foundation. It helped me figure out my shade as well by giving you two choices - I actually use the lighter shade in the winder and the darker one in the summer... It is an amazing value just for the brushes alone that would cost a lot buying each separately. I definately recommend this kit if you are ready to use bare essencuals as your foundation/powder/concealer etc. replacement... Breaking up with Bare Escentuals
I've really stuck it out with this product but to be honest, I'm over it. I have combination/acne prone skin so I gravitate towards cosmetics that won't encourage my breakouts. I will hand it to them that the product never aggrevated my skin. I'm just not impressed with the overall coverage I get. I have some acne scars, a tad bit of redness, and some large pores on my t-zone and this product does...read more nothing to mask any of the imperfections. I'm ready to dish out big bucks for my old stand-by, Chanel's powder foundation. Aside from it's lack of coverage, I just feel that it makes me look ashy. I am very pale and could do without looking grey. I never feel alive in this product. One last thing...I use the Bisque concealer as well and, no matter what they say, it looks powdery and extremely cakey when used under the eye. I'm not a fan. Great Kit indeed....
If you learn how to apply the powders. It's not that difficult, but will not give you the best results if you don't know how to apply. They look very smooth and natural, and can be heavier for evening with more applications. PERFECT
This is the PERFECT foundation! It is VERY easy to use, thanks to the DVD and phamplet. It really looks very natural and not cakey, and you know that with the all natural ingredients, you're really doing something good for your skin. I have this kit, and I use it every day. A must-have kit
My review was initially under the Beyond The Basics kit, but somehow was moved to this product, and not by me. I have posted the review where it should have been left, and will let this one stand as well, even though it isn't about the starter kit. BE is a great product, but the foundation takes a specific technique to achieve its best look. A very small amount of product, lots of buffing, and for...read more pete's sake, don't use that face brush that's pictured there. Use a Kabuki or the Handy Buki brush. Also, not everyone uses Warmth, despite what the infomercial says. I threw mine in the trash! (An essential addition to any BE user's makeup wardrobe. The two shades of Bisque (concealer) can be mixed to create a custom concealer. Soft Focus Glee is a great blush for those with pale skin, while it's primary purpose is as an all over face color(AOFC). Bare Radiance is also an AOFC which gives a wonderful glow, and can also be mixed with other items, or used alone as a blush. Beautiful Eyes
