love it!
I have been using this product for almost 10 years. I've tried more "affordable" versions of the mineral makeup and always return to this. It's lightweight but effective and doesn't leave the usual lines or streaks. Pro: Did not make me breakout, Con: Horrible cakey look after time
I have extremely sensitive skin, and use 3 different acne meds to control my acne (Retin-A, Clindamycin, and Proactive). I have oily skin, and combination skin during different seasons. If someone is farther away, they won't see it, but if they are within a foot away from me, they can see it. No matter how much I exfoliated my skin, used a primer, moisturized or dried my skin, no matter how much/little I used--same thing! Also, it looks great when you first put it on, but after a couple of hours, doesn't look as good, like it doesn't stay on as well. I suppose that's common with a lot of mineral foundations. I stayed with it for a while because it was so non-comedogenic, but I finally had to change. Mess for $60 or $25-28
I have worked every color of this line and even mixed colors to match people. For starters, the colors are not ALWAYS (as they promise) a PERFECT match. Coverage- light to medium. Now, if you use the Matte version you get the benefit of it's Rare Mineral complex which is also found in the Skincare line. You get the convenience of a shifter that locks into place, so there's less mess and it's not as ashy. Plus you can skip the Mineral veil. This foundation is not the best, I use it when I just want light coverage for the day but if you need a little better coverage I would recommend skinfusion bio active mineral intuitive soft focus fluid foundation. So I would definitely recommend that foundation over the bare minerals, however I have tried a lot of upper end make ups and always go back to the bare minerals prime time foundation primer, blush and mineral vail. Great!!
I was skeptical about this, but my mother raved about it. I finally received some as a gift, and I LOVE it. It evens out my fair skin tone, and looks very natural, no weird foundation lines, but good coverage. Itchy Shiny Mess
I thought there was something wrong with me after using this product. I bought it with my sister-in-law and mother-in-law and when they put it on us at Ulta, it looked great. They continued to love it and still wear it. It covered well, evened tone and everything. However, when I bought it, I noticed, like others, that it made my pores stand out (which I fixed with a skin prepper from Estee Lauder...read more - Idealist). Next, once it was not winter and I became a little tanner, I could not find a color match. I'm Italian with clear olive undertones (albeit light toned), and anything darker than the fairly light didn't have any yellow base (which a Rep told me she had the same problem). Everything is based for pink undertones. Next came the itching. Like others, whenever I became warm while wearing it, my skin became uncontrollably itchy and red. It wouldn't even help to wash my face. I tried to use it in the winter only, but if my skin wasn't used to it, it would still make me itchy even when I wasn't warm. Apparently because of the bismuth. It's way too expensive - $25 for one jar, and you can't really tell if the color is right until you wear it around. If you get the starter kit, the bare vitamins does help to provide a base to cover pores, but it feels and smells kinda like glue and I could not continue using it. I also have oily skin and this would do nothing to take away shine. Even when i built layers and used mineral veil, I still had to go over lightly with pressed powder. I wanted so badly to like this product but it just didn't work for me. I was especially disappointed because I have slightly sensitive skin - which the product is supposed to be designed for - and it never produced great results. Excellent Foundation
I have been using this foundation for the better part of three years, and it has rarely failed me. It gives your skin a very natural finish and doesn't make you look like you are wearing a mask. I am not a fan of this foundation at all. In my opinion it is not natural looking at all. For being a mineral foundation, it looks very cakey.
