Beautiful finish & coverage, but it breaks me out.
This is one of those products that I return to periodically because I *love* the cosmetic aspect of it (beautiful, natural finish, the perfect amount of coverage, easy to use) but every time I try, I break out with those deep, painful zits. The Only Foundation I'll Ever Wear
I've always had issues with liquid foundation...it's too cakey and you never really find the perfect color for you, but I was ecstatic when I tried the Bare Escentuals. It's light and feels like you're wearing nothing on your face, but it covers everything really well. Glowing results
Where was this stuff when I was younger and prone to breakouts? Even though I'm beyond that concern now, I love this product because it is so easy to use and the results are fantastic. I could see a difference with the first use, but what convinced me this was exceptional was the feedback I got from others. So many people commented on how healthy my skin looked. I like this mineral powder foundation the most of all I've tried
First off, I've never liked wearing foundation (I had only used liquids and mousse in the past) so when I decided to try this I figured it would be as bad as my other experiences. I had to get used to not using too much and to the buff method of applying. What I like about the product is that it's light weight, subtle, it stays on all day even through out a work out and it doesn't look caky. I ...read morethought it would be very drying but it's almost like a creamy powder. I was surprised by how much I liked it. I've tried other mineral powders that were ok but I like the BE because it's finer milled and a little bit lighter weight on my face. I've been converted. Price wise, considering what other premier cosmetics go for, it's on the low side. If you're comparing to drug store brands, it's higher of course but if you look at La Mer liquid you're talking $85 and it still feeld heavy. Mediocre Product w/ Genius Marketing
I work in a cosmetics store and have seen the astonishing rise in popularity of Bare Minerals make-up (if you want to call it make-up). I sell it, I put it on about 40 people per day and I must say I just don't get it. It only looks good on about 30% of users, looks decent on about 20%, and looks down right awful on the rest. African American? Steer clear unless you can pull off a medium tan. The ...read moreonly reason it's so popular is because it's on TV. I have a major issue with companies who are all about Brand-Bashing (I know a Bare Escentials rep personally and she basically says they believe everything else is crap). I have seen too many people express their dissatisfaction with BE but buy it anyway due to peer pressure. BE turns everyone into a makeup artist (in their own head) by giving them directions on how to do extremely basic looks with their sheer eyeshadows and terrible lipstick. The Buxoms Gloss doesn't plump, The Primer (face and eye) does nothing, and the foundation won't cover dark spots. It is good, but it itches!
This mineral makeup, as well as every other one, and I have tried about 8 of them, makes my skin itch after a few hours! I find myself scratching and touching my face without even thinking and I can't wait to take it off at nite.
